Restaurants in SD?

So in a few weeks were heading to Cali for a few days in DL and then the last few in SD. The trip is for my parents 40th anniversary. The last night that were there in SD, we'd like to take them out to a good dinner. Looking for suggestions for a nice place to take them but that wont cost a refi on my home (spendy is ok, just not ridiculous). Anybody have suggestions I can take a look at?

We're good with the steak/seafood thing or something more specific like Italian. Thanks in advance...

Check out the Gaslamp Quarter or Little Italy. There are all kinds of restaurants in both places.

If you want a good steak, Pinnacle Peak is a great place with funky decor. All they serve is beef. The only problem is the restaurant is a way out of downtown in the city of Santee. If you don't have a vehicle, it might be a little difficult to get to.

If you are going to go to the zoo while you're in San Diego, you might check out Albert's Restaurant. It's the zoo's table service restaurant and has some very good food for reasonable prices. If you go to Albert's I recommend the Jambalaya...

I would check out yelp.com to see reviews on different restaurants and check the restaurant's menu's to see if it's to your liking.
