Restaurants Discontinuing Items...

I just went to put in my order at Chipotle (online) and they no longer have SOFT corn tortillas. I understand why they would discontinue them (they fall apart way to easily) but I still order them because I don't like flour.

What have restaurants discontinued that you miss?

I loved the 99 grilled 3 cheese with tomato basil soup - WHAT GONE?!?!?! Really in NE this is a staple.

They also removed the black bean soup, the only vegan soup they had. My daughter no longer goes there because that was the only thing she ate there.

We have a restaurant here that always had a great pesto pizza and they were quite well known for it. Low and behold, the pizza was taken off of the menu last year and hasn't returned. I don't get it. Unless it's going to make a come back and people will come flocking in?

Our favorite local restaurant took what they called an "Uncle Sam Sandwich" off the menu. It is a roast beef sandwich with grilled onions and blue cheese. My wife e-mail to complaint, and the response was...."we still have all the ingredients, you can ask for it and they will fix it". So taking something off the printed menu doesn't mean they still won't let you order it.

You mean we have to get sick on flour tortillas instead of corn??

They still have the crunchy corn, just not the soft corn. By the time I got my order home the crunchy corn were more like soft corn, without the falling apart

I went to order my husband's beloved chicken salad sandwich yesterday at Chick-fil-A only to find it is being discontinued at the end of September.

I loved the chicken snack wraps at Mcdonald's and they discontinued those. I am still bitter about that.

Panera is the biggest offender for me.

Many years ago they used to do these thin crust pizzas. Had 4 different kinds. My son LOVED them. He was reminiscing about them the other day.

They take their turkey chili off the menu for the summer. I get why they do it but it's a dieter's dream food so I suffer without it all summer. But they also removed their Chicken Kale Caesar salad and it's not coming back apparently. Just irritates me because it seems like ALL the things *I* like get removed while the same old things that are ho-hum to me just stay around. I've pretty much figured that all the thing I enjoy must be poor sellers.

Well the 3 ones closest to me (as well as the two enroute to visiting my sister) stopped having it over a year ago.

Don't do this to me @low-key . Now you've got me pining for Chi Chi's chili con queso and seafood enchilada and fried ice cream. No authentic Mexican food ever came close to being as good as their schlocky fake stuff was!

My all-time favorite thing to do was ordering the Red Lobster Bread Bowl Seafood Fondue as my meal. It was probably 10,000 calories, but I loved every shrimpy, cheesy, bready bite.

The only thing I can think of for myself was the Pollo Magnifico meal at Chi Chi's. First they took it off their menu, then they closed all their restaurants.

DH likes the Daily Double meal at McD's and can sometimes get it and sometimes not. Maybe it's up to the franchise owner to decide if they offer that or not, but it always bugs him when he can't get it at one but then can at another.

McDonald's locations have regional menus - I've seen stuff on the menu in places like Honolulu, Paris and Barcelona that came as a complete shock. Even different regions of Canada have different menus. Most of the regional offerings are time-limited or seasonal as well. Maybe that combo your DH likes is that type of thing.
