I take your post to mean that you have the actual certificate already. If that's the case, read it throughly as there are certain criteria that you need to follow. They are basically self explanatory. Be aware of black out days of the week, and how much you need to spend in order to use the certificate. Alcohol is generally not included. Tip is not included unless specified.
If it would make you feel better, give the place a call and make sure you can still use it. I never have had a problem. We basically treat it like any other coupon, and present it when the check arrives. No special announcement needed. Order, enjoy your meal, hand them the coupon when the check comes, they will make the adjustment, then pay your bill. Simple!
