Restaurants as of late in Vero

I failed to mention on my original post that we also like Nino's italian res. in Vero--check it out! It is a family type resaurant and we've been there twice two years ina row! The calzones rock!

Starbox, can't wait to hear a trip report when you get to VB. We are so looking forward to our first visit in July!

Hopefully, I'll be able to manage a live report from Vero. I'll be sure to take pictures of restaurants and food!

I spent today packing - not that I am excited to be leaving or anything....

4 more days till Disney! 10 more till Vero! :cloud9:

My parents have a vacation place about 30 min north of the Vero Resort (is it wrong that a tiny piece of me resents this, because I'll never have a reason to stay at WDW Vero?:confused3 ) and I want to second this recommndation. We LOVE City Tropics. Fun atmosphere, great food. Also, for a fun, casual, pub-like (but very family friendly atmosphere, we take out DD9 all the time) there is the Surfin' Turtle which is in the "Driftwood Plaza" where there is a Publix, hardware store, movie rental/pizza place, gym and liquor store:thumbsup2 !! We eat there ALL the time when in Melbourne Beach.

Surfin Turtle would be literally 25 min north, I would say. Right before ST, maybe a mile before, is a hidden gem called "Coconut Cove Cafe. Only open for Dinner, and no Sundays or Mondays, it is family owned and operated. It is high class German food with a beautiful view. Get there right at 5 or expect a wait (that is well worth it.) beer and wine only and not super kid friendly (we take our DD, but i remember when she was a baby, they have NO high chairs, which kind of tells ya something!:rolleyes1 )

We also love Skewers in Indialantic. Again, about 40 min north. Try to go on Sat nights, but make a reservation for that particular night, as it is popular because they have a belly dancer Sat nights only!

I have to tell you, Islands Fish Grille disappointed me. Also, I *think* my mom said it is now only open for lunch? I know that seems weird...maybe I am wrong....

Ok, I am going to check out Mia's thread now, to see if I can learn about some new places for my next visit!

HA! We live in that area and we still go overnight to Vero, LOL! Anyways, I didn't like IFG the first time that we went, but I loved it after that. I'm glad that DH convinced me to give it a second chance.

Surfin' Turtle is on restaurant.com I believe! You can get GC's there soooo cheaply if you catch a 70% off code for restaurant.com :) I love Skewers, but DH doesn't...**sigh**. City Tropics is the best place to go with kids IMHO. It's plenty loud enough to drown out even my toddler:lmao:

Oh, that's cool that you enjoy The Vero Disney Resort! Whereabouts do you live? Are you in Melbourne Beach or Indialantic? Because we are considering a permanent move up there in about a year or so.

Ok, ok...maybe I will gove IFG another try. ::yes:: OMG...I will TOTALLY go look for those coupons for ST. My parent's vacation home is literally across the street and down about 1/8 of a mile from there, so we go regularly. They are open for breakfast now on the weekends!

We used to go to Djon's right there on Riverside (same guy owns CT, Andiamo, Djons, etc) and we loved it, but it has been a long time, so I was hesitant to recommend it. It is fine dining/upscale.

PM'd you :)

Djons is supposed to be really good. I haven't had the pleasure of going there since we never seem to have a babysitter these days.

I love the beaches in the area across from that plaza. Ponce de Leon has to be the nicest beach in the area. A lot of my friends from the mainland daytrip it there...gorgeous beach!
