Restaurants and take out

Do any of the resort TS restaurants do take out? We spend a lot of time at the resorts and don't always feel like going out to dinner. I'm sure the TS in the parks don't do this, but what about places like Olivia's, Turf Club, etc.? TIA

It has been about a year since we utilized this service, but 11 months ago when staying at BWV--all the table service boardwalk restaurants, were available for take out or room service, if staying at BWI/BWV.
I also thing Olivia's does take out if called ahead of time. I bet all the signature restaurants at all the DVC resorts would be willing to do take out, as long as you call in advance. After all, this IS Disney!

I was curious about this too because my hubby and I are going out to dinner and leaving our kids at the hotel with "kids nite out" babysitter. I would love to order dinner for our 4 year old and get it to go and use one of our table service credits.

There were a few posts a while back that Olivia's did not allow takeout any more.

I inquired about Whispering Canyon back in January 07 when we stayed at VWL, they didn't at that time.

Super disappointed Beaches n' Cream no longer allowing take-out...only ice cream. They have tons of Styrofoam boxes but will not allow you to take-out a burger and fries! Since BnC is so small, you would think it would be good business to do food take-out...no table time, no clean up, etc. Go figure??

Also, this past January, we were staying at BWV. Walked out on Boardwalk to get dinner but decided to just take it back to the room. DH wanted meatloaf from Big River Grille. No problem...we ordered it and told them we'd be back in 15 minutes to pick up. I wanted Spoodle's rigatoni dish. Walked down there and were told "no take out". But, if you're staying at BWI or BWV you can call room service. Wha'?! I'm here, I want to order but I can't?! I have to go back up to the room and call room service?! CM said she would call for me. Huh?! I laughed out loud 'cause I thought she was kidding. She was not. Sheezzzzz...

Yes, we were told the same thing, which was maddening, as they used to have take out. We had done take out many times there in the past, as the menu items, filled the gap between Roaring Forks, and Artist Point. We were told by the CM, at WC, that DDP was the reason they stopped take out.

Recall from a previous thread on the Restaurants Board that most TS restaurants do NOT offer any take out meals...

So if you're staying at BWV you can order from BW restaurants, but that's it??? Doesn't make sense to me.

Some BW restaurants are not Disney operated and may allow take out. Most, if not all, Disney operated full service restaurants stopped take out when the current DDP came online, it is speculated that this is to prevent folks from sharing a lot of credits, especially during the free DDP period. Though there are also concerns about improper food storage,etc. Some folks would say Disney food made them ill, after it was in their room for a few days.

Even if the restaurant offers take out you can't use the DDP to get it.

The problem was that "some" people using DDP argued the point that since it was take-out they should not have to use a table service credit.

So now - no take out.

I will add that I think they wanted to use the CS credits because it was take-out and save the TS for another time. Of course I bet not many were willing to pay cash.
