What is your favorite restaurant at Epcot for the ambiance, not the food? We love San Angel Inn but are looking for a new restaurant which makes us feel we are in another country. I know they are all supposed to make you feel like you're in another country, but I'm sure some are better than others.

Canada - Le Cellier...we love the cozy castle feeling...it is like you are eating in a great big wine cellar...I guess that's why it is called Le Cellier ;)

I really enjoy Marrakesh. The belly dancer is really fun to watch. I also really like Alfredo's but many people complain the tables are too close together. I've heard good things about Biergarten's atmosphere. They have a stage show with dancing and music. Hope this helps a little :)

I don't particularly care for the Biergarten per se, but I do like the atmosphere there. I also love the atmosphere at Marrakesh.

Atmosphere alone? Let's see.
  1. Biergarten (fun, fun, fun)
  2. Marrakesh
  3. Bistro de Paris (oh how nice!)
  4. Nine Dragons (food bad; decor good)
  5. Rose and Crown
  6. Coral Reef
  7. Chefs de France
  8. Akershus (was nicer before the princess invasion)
  9. San Angel Inn (dark, dark, dark!)
  10. Teppanyaki (been there, done that, too many times)
  11. Le Cellier (small, cramped)
  12. Garden Grill (reminds me of Howard Johnsons)

Sounds like any choice would be good for atmosphere. The only worries I have with Chefs de France is my 2 year old not having a good time so maybe I'll wait for that one.

Oh you have a 2 yo..then I definitely suggest Marrakesh :) I bet they would get a kick out of the music and dancing.

I wanted to try Marrakesh because it reminds me of Casablanca. I like to live in a fantasy world. My daughter is almost 2 now and loves dancing so she probably would love it. Although she might get up and dance herself.

The thing about Marrakesh is that the musicians and belly dancer only perform about 15 mts. per hour. When we ate there we caught the last 5 mts. of the show, and there was no music or anything else for the duration of our meal. It's a beautiful place, though. Seems like the show lasts a lot longer at Biergarten, and its a lot more festive. It's dark inside, but very lively when the music's playing.

...what he [ OR she... :confused3 ] said!! :thumbsup2

...or, if you can call BELLY DANCING 'ambiance', go to Morocco.... :teeth:

I'm glad to hear that most of the restaurants are great. That way whatever I don't get to this time, I can go to in a couple of years. The ones I was looking into going to before I posted were Rose & Crown, Marrakesh, Biergarten, or LeCellier.

I would have to vote for Restaurant Marrakesh. It's quitely tucked away in the back of the Morrocan Showcase and so beautiful!!!!!

I personally love Rose & Crown, especially when the piano player is in action

Granted I've only gone into the pub side for fish & chips

My vote is for Bistro de Paris! VERY Parisian in many ways, romantic, lovely all the way around...but PRICEY (and not on the DDP)! Great food and amazing atmosphere!

Our kids (10 & 6) loved Le Cellier. It is the only place my DS requested to eat at in January. He liked the Chocolate "moose" cake. And it was by far our fave restaurant!
