Hi there.
Would love to hear what your opinions are !

Hopefully staying onsite BUT not on any of the resorts on the monorail..

so I would like to eat at one of the restarants that we could take a monorail to !!
what are your favorites with the kids !! mostly for early dinner !!

thanks !

With kids, you will have to go to Chef Mickeys! We loved it and our boys loved riding the monorail through the Contemporary!

I don't have a link but I can describe how it runs. There are two loops for the MK area. ONe is the express loop..it runs counterclockwise, between the TTC (Ticket and Transportion Center) and the MK. It makes no other stops.
Then, there is the Resort Loop...this ones stops at, in this order, MK, Contemporary Resort, TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian. Then back to the MK. It takes about 25-30 mins to make a complete loop. You can get on, or off, at any of those stops.
There is a third loop that is different from those two. It starts at the TTC and runs to Epcot and back. You have to get off the MK monorail cars before you can hop on the Epcot ones.
Hope that helps a bit.

great thanks !!
I was thinking that the kids would love this chance to take the monorail
but then thinking where do I catch it ??
there is so much info here ... love it.

With the kids, I would go with Chef Mickeys. I love Kona, but my dd (13) has little to no interest in going there. But, she insists on CM's every trip for dinner on our first night!!!!

So, take the bus from your resort to MK, then hop on the monorail over to the Contemporary. Should take about 10 mins tops, with the wait on the platform. When you get done eating, back on the monorail and head back to MK. YOu can even hop off to check out the Polynesian and GF along the way!!!

I would vote for Chef Mickey's! You could even walk there, if you'd like... if you leave from CR to go to MK on the monorail, you go through Poly and GF on the way.

You may want to think about the character meal at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. When is your trip? They will be renovating the restaurant over the summer; the character meal will be moved next door to the GF Cafe from July through September.

I know you said dinner but the Poly has a breakfast with Lilo and Stitch that might be another option for kids --If they like those characters.

If you have never done CHEF MICKEY'S, then you must do it! You must! None other to consider if you haven't done it!:goodvibes

Chef Mickey's is my kids' favorite place.
Kona is DH's favorite and the kids' second favorite (yes, that's true--they really liked it).
We all like 'Ohana as well, and it screams Disney in terms of atmosphere.

We have never done CM but are going to when we are there in a week. My DBro and his fiance went in Feb and highly recommended it because they knew we were going and had kids. Eventhough they don't have kids, they said they had such a blast there, they are going back this coming Feb and they said that CM will be a first night tradition for years to come. I can't wait to go myself.
