Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

We have about 40 full size candy bars left.....good thing I am leaving them here with DD.
I would be so tempted to eat them.
She will too, but she is better about spacing it out. :rotfl:

Thanks, Heidi.
He is just sleeping mostly.
He isn't supposed to go to work next week at all. He was supposed to be gone all week on a business trip, but cancelled it.

Nancy, I hope that Dave is feeling better soon. We had 40 kids to our door. I handed out bags of chips, and the kids scored big time in our neighbourhood, and got a big pile of candy each. Will be giving it out slowly over the next month, and for lunches. My bumpkin was a major hit with the neighbours (a siamese twin pumpkin that I relief carved a string bikini on). Have a great day everyone!

We had about 6 groups totaling about 20-25 kids. I purchased 2 bags of hershey mix and reese mix from BJ's and have lots left over. Now I just have to have the will power and keep my hands away from the leftovers. I did package a lot of the leftovers up so we don't eat it all at one time. Next year I'm only going to purchase 1 bag. I never know from 1 year to the next how many I'm going to get at my door. I feel that being on a weekend we had less kids, maybe because there we more parties going on instead of T or T.

Nancy, hope Dave recovers from the flu real soon.

Thanks for the well wishes for Dave, everyone. He is already feeling better.
I am just afraid I am going to go home and get it and then DD comes for Thanksgiving. Don't want her to catch anything either.

The cool weather here (60s) only last a couple days. We're back to wearing shorts. Love it!!
Back to WA in a couple of hours and the rain and cold
We are coming back for Christmas.

starting this early......last non-Disney question for this trip

QOTD 11-1

How was Halloween? How many trick-or-treaters did you get? What did you pass out?
Did you go to any parties?

Be back later with our results.

I took Jake out, so DS14 handed out the candy and tried to scare the kids. It was an odd day for it--football and a parade competing. I ran out of candy last year, so I got 2 big bags from Costco and they didn't even go through one. Mix of mini choc candy bars. (One child was allergic to chocolate, and I didn't have anything else! oops) Not as many parents dropping off their kids in our development this year, either.

No parties. I think I need to have one next year.

What is your favorite viewing spot to watch Illuminations?

We often stand on the bridge between the UK and France. But last trip we went to an event and watched Illuminations on the area of land between the 2 shops at the start of the World Showcase that you see when you enter from Future World. The view from there was amazing, and if it isn't roped off for an event next trip we will try to watch it from there again.

Illuminations is our favorite.
I like over by Norway....preferable on a seat ;)

Our favorite is on the bridge between England and France, closest to the exit, so close to England. Sometimes we go behind the Fish and Chips place and sometimes, closer to France, there's a place that often is roped off because of special events, but sometimes it's available and that's a great place too!

We've done an GG event that had the Illuminations viewing where Danauk mentioned and it was fabulous, but now we usually only go to Illuminations when we can walk back to our hotel quickly!

Bobbi:goodvibes

I've seen this several times, from Norway, and from a random spot I could find, and a special, reserved place for DISConII. On this last visit, the 'special' place was open and we saw it from there again. It's under/near the bridge, before you get to France, it's where the priavte boats line up to watch, and it's really nice! If no one pushes in front of you, you have first row seating! :thumbsup2

Continuing....where is your favorite viewing spot for Wishes?

On the steps/balcony of the Teppan Edo restaurant in the Japan showcase.

Nancy, don't know if I posted this earlier or not here, but our dr says they're seeing alot of secondary infections after the flu so be on the look out if fever returns. Hope he's feeling better!

I assume that answer was for yesterday's question, Lynne ;)

I will warn him. He gets sick a lot anyway
Supposed to leave for another trip on Sunday.
I am disinfedting like crazy. Make him carry Lysol wipees around with him and spray whenever he changes locations :rotfl:

oy. I'm so scatterbrained! I was reading answers, and saw the continuing...ha!
I think I need another vacation.:upsidedow
