Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

Thanks, Missy....so far so good. But only about 2 hours of sleep.
Went to DHS today......back for a rest.
Very HUMID for us....it is slowing us down a little.

We were at DHS for rope drop....but back in the crowd a ways and still just walked on TSM. Got a FP when we got off for 11. When we went back there was a 40 minute wait (the lowest we have seen it) and FP were up to 3.

Crowds were very low at MK today......wasn't the least bit crowded waiting for the opening show.
We did Peter Pan, Snow White, Philharmagic, IASW, HM, PotC, TTA, Buzz Lightyear, walked through the stores on Main Street all by 11.
Went over to WCC early and they let us in before our ADR time.

Going to finish up our costumes now before we head back for the party tonight.

What are you dressing as this year? I've got to work on our costumes. I found a great antique store down the street with a whole room of vintage clothes. Just have to pick a decade!

Hi Lynne.
The party was really fun.....
We went as a Disney Visa card and a huge bag of merchandize. It was fun. And once again people stopped us to take pictures. We love trying to come up with the unusal.....but the bag went away part way through....too HOT!!
The humidity is slowing us down some.....good thing we have been enough this year, that it is okay.

Are you still going to be staying at the Treehouses? We saw the model for them at the preview center. Very cute.

We're back!! Cold and rain :cold:

So QOTD 9-30

If you could have any job at Disney, what would it be?

I would LOVE to be Mickey Mouse. Unfortunately, it's probably the only time in my life where I've been too tall to do something. :confused3

You have to post some pics-that sounds great! You always have fun costumes. We are in the Treehouses. I can't wait. Reviews are good for the villas. 2 buses might get old, but not in a hurry for anything so it should be fine for us. Can't wait! We're meeting friends that live up the street on Sat--our first day, their last, and family on Sunday.

I would love to work in the Haunted Mansion.... "Drag your retched bodies to the DEAD center of the room". I have a friend who works at Narcoossee's and his wife is at MK in the parades and shows. He left a restaurant management position and she was a nurse--they decided they wanted to have fun at work. :goodvibes

I'm weird, I really don't want to work at Disney. I'm happiest vacationing there! :lmao:

I would love to be Tinker Bell, I would love to fly around at the start of the fireworks (preferably at Disneyland though, her flight there is better!!)
Or I would love to be one of the VIP tour guides.

I will post some pictures in a few days....not sure I will get to them before this.
We found out we have no water this morning  Not fun and with DH sick too :(

Tink gets paid very well, Karen ::yes:: But she is super tiny (I sure couldn't be her).
I would want to be a pastry chef ::yes::

Wedding Planner:bride:

Nancy, "Welcome Home"!!!!!!!!
Please write a TR:thumbsup2

I don't do trip reports. I did one trip...took notes all through it.
But not anymore.
It was hot and humid and we got rain dumped on us a couple of times.
4 DIS people stopped me along the way.
I met with Barbara (Luv2Roam) twice....and bobbiwoz once. Great to see them again and we had a great time!
F&W Festival made Epcot WS crazy!!
We didn't do much Monday and Tuesday because DH was sick.

We ate at:
Brown Derby
Whispering Canyon
Pecos Bill's
Columbia Harbor House
'Ohana
Rose and Crown
Earl of Sandwich
50's Prime Time
Fairfax Fare
Boma (breakfast)
Saana (with Barbara)
Le Cellier (dinner with Bobbi and then lunch)
Rainforest at AK
Paradiso 37
House of Blues

Ask questions and I will be glad to answer, if I can.
Went to MNSSHP on 9-22

So what was your favorite meal?
Which was your favorite restaurant?
How many of those were first time visits? Would you go back?

I've never eaten at Rose & Crown, but I thought I'd might someday. How was it?

And as you know, Earl of Sandwich is one of my favorites. what did you eat?

Oh how I wish I were going!

Welcome home Nancy, sorry to hear Dave is sick.

Right after John showered last Sat. we had no water, turns out we needed a new well pump. $1250 dollars later we now have water and better pressure.

How was the Brown Derby? John actually suggested eating there sometime.

you are going ::yes:: Dec. 2011, if not before ;)

Le Cellier is our fav.....has been for years and years, before you needed ADRs to get in
Dinner.....Mushroom filet....heaven. DH had the scallops and loved them too.
Lunch....Steak Burger! Love, love it. That's why we need to go more than once, to try something different. And of course, cheese soup for DH (I just take a bite).

First time to Saana and Paradiso 37. We only got a snack at Saana since we had eaten at Boma for breakfast (that is my favorite breakfast!!). I could just eat the French toast and be happy. We did like Saana and will go back for a "real" meal next trip.

We were happy with Paradiso 37 too. It was fun and I loved the unique ways they presented the food. Will go back there too. They are trying to get added to the dining plan, so we'll see what that does to it

We have also eaten at Rose and Crown many times. We like it a lot. A lot of the menus had changed from allears since I printed them, some as recently as Aug...so very new changes. They added a chicken and mushroom pie that DH had and really liked it. I splurged (diet plan) and had fish and chips....so yummy. And I don't really like fish ;)

We had the Med. chicken salad at Earl. Love it....and you sure can't beat their prices. And a brownie.....yummy!! Reminds me of the Ghirardelli brownies :teeth:

the biggest disappointments were Pecos Bill's and Columbia Harbor House. We had salads, so I guess those are not places to go for those. Stick to the fried stuff :rotfl:

He is at the doctor now. Caught a cold and it might be turning into bronchitis.....hopefully not, but we'll see.

Dave fixed the well pump this morning. Only cost $10 :p :rotfl: thank goodness.
We are still dealing with a hot water problem we that happened right before we left. We lost power the day before and when it came back on the downstairs water heater wouldn't heat....so that is on the schedule for Sat. So no laundry or dishwasher until that is done. I will have laundry to do forever by then
Luckily we have another water heater upstairs, so showers are still good :yay:

I like the Brown Derby. But only order the Cobb Salad. Dave likes it a lot and that is where Lunch with an Imagineer is, so he has been more times than I have.
It is an upscale place, so portion are kind of small. The lady next to us had the ravioli and there was ONE  It was a pretty good size and had decorative things on it, but still ;)
I would skip it if it wasn't one of Dave's favorites. So we go every third time or so.
I prefer 50's Prime Time :teeth:
