Rest Break mid-afternoon Question

Two adults here going on trip #33 next March (ha, that's nothin' compared to many of you!) and, except for the first couple of trips, we have always taken
breaks.

It's good that your family is acclimated to the climate. We went down in June for the first time in 2008 and, even with the breaks, have sworn that we'll stick to our March, December, April trips.

I don't know about the other posters here, but we don't think we're wasting time taking a bus or boat back to our resort. There's so much to do at the resort, too, that's part of the magic...

Whatever you do, I hope you have a great time!

I agree- some of our best memories are the quieter ones spent at the resort.

My family does not take the midday breaks. Our first trip was when DD was 5 and there was only one day that we came back to the resort midday and swam in the pool. Our family are not nappers though. DD stopped napping at age 3 and to this day (almost 10) is a great nighttime sleeper but never naps during the day. Our second trip was in 07 so she was 8 and she had tons of energy to make it through the day. I should state though that we are not early risers. We try to get to the parks for around opening time but we don't usually do extra magic hours and we only do a sit-down breakfast twice during the trip.

I do agree that in August it is most likely going to be sweltering hot especially in those mid-afternoon hours but I don't think you have to leave the parks to get a break. As others have said, a late lunch at a sit-down restaurant is one good way to get out of the heat and take a break. Also, if you choose your attractions so that you are doing indoor things (shows, etc.) for those afternoon hours you will be out of the heat and more relaxed.
