Ressie split w/ Rented pts?

If we make a ressie w/ our available dev pts and I rent pts for the last day- would we get that last day in the same villa or would we have to move for the last day? I guess I am asking if the reservation would be ongoing w/ the additional pts to complete the stay or would it be as if someone else just reserved a 2BR and could end up wherever MS slots that point ressie? Gosh! I hope I am making sense here- Thx for anyone who understands what I am asking and can answer-

We just did this on one of our recent reservations. We had originally rented points for 5 nights at SSR. Then we bought into DVC and received our developer points. We used some points to add a day on that begining of the trip. MS linked the two reservations and we never had to move. If you have the dining plan, you will have to have it for the whole time since the reservations are linked.

The only problem we encountered was that since we technically checked out after the first night, the credited back our gift card for a sizeable credit we had placed on our account to use all week. Luckily, I checked our account mid-week. I just had to take the original gift card back down and they re-added it to our room.

As long as the two reservations are for the exact same thing, you can ask MS to link the reservations. If they are linked, it will be the same as one continuous reservation. You will not have to move and you will not have to check out and back in again between the two reservations.
