Generalizing of course, which sex is the more responsible driver?

Please add your experiences which led you to voting the way you did. :flower:

Aliens! :rotfl:
I've seen both women and men who drive bad and both who drive good. I can't really choose one!

I'm not old enough to drive... but I have observed that women are generally more responsible.

Good observation!

I voted women, but I've seen plenty of idiots of both sexes. But in general, I think women are safer/more responsible. I think it's due to less ego, less testosterone, don't feel nearly as much need to "prove" anything with a car.

I voted aliens ( :rotfl2: ) because I think both men and women can be responsible, but can also be equally irresponsible. And I think it also depends on age (and experience) as well.

I would have actually agreed with you 20 years ago when I started driving, and I'm a guy. Now I'll be on the expressway and some car will be flying up the road, changing lanes like an idiot. I'll almost instantly stereotype it as some young guy who just got his license. As often as not, its a female these days. I know this is a stereotype too, but I think I run into a lot more timid drivers who are female, who drive poorly not because they're irresponsible, but afraid.

What kind of question is this?

A bit sexist don't ya think?

Anyways we know that us men rule the road..... :rotfl2:

Yeah, right!

As others have said, you will find drivers of both sexes who choose to drive responsibly and others who choose not too drive responsibly. IMHO, I am a very responsible driver. I have to be, with three kids (and another on the way!).

Occasionally you may find me tooling along at close to 90MPH..... very rarely though, when there is light traffic, and visibilty excellent. Many of you may think that is irresponsible. I rarely (borderline never) weave through traffic, tailgate, or drive wrecklessly. Many times I am driving 70 or 75 in the left lane, and people behind me wish to pass. I make an extra effort to get out of their way and yield, so that they may pass. I truly wish to set an example for those around me.... like anything I do, I try to do the best I can!

I'm not sure which one to pick. I seen both men & women be terrible drivers, so I don't know which one. I know my hubby & i are pretty good drivers though.

I voted for the aliens just because I don't think a gender makes some person more responsible of anything than another person.

I picked aliens because there's just as many clueless grannies in their giant cars driving like Mr Magoo causing accidents all around them, and soccer moms yapping on their cell phone not paying attention as they swerve into your lane as there are "stud muffins" in their pimped out cars making a game out of how many people they can run off the hwy, and roid road ragers practically rear ending you for daring to go less than 85MPH.

But they all seem to have more than one ribbon magnet on their vehicle.

The insurance actuarys tell the tale. Woman are cheaper to insure because, statstically, they are better drivers. Individually however, well lets just say that riding in the car with my mom makes me flash back to Mr. Toads Wild Ride.

Men up here as women tend to be far more tenative and not so sure behind the wheel. You will get women driving 80 KPH in a 100 zone and will drive that in the passing lane or they will ride your tail and be to afraid to pass the vehicle in front of them. More women here are involved in traffic accidents than men of any age it is a terrible statistic but it is true I know I work for an insurance company so I get to see all the info. Men are more likeley to recieve more traffic tickets but wome are involved in and cause more accidents.

I was just about to say this.

Women as a rule do not get involved in drag racing, road rage, or trying to look "cool" with their cars. Women are more likely to view a car as a way to get from point A to point B than as a status symbol. Do some? Sure. But statistically no where near as much as men. I see this on a daily basis at work.

Next time you see a bright red Nissan Maxima with an aftermarket spoiler and flames up the side, I bet it's going to be a young male driving it. :teeth:

Is this true nationally or just in your area? I had always heard the oposite.

In my house, it's me, the WOMAN. :teeth:

But it seems I cuss them out equally. :rotfl:

It is across Canada according to our insurance industry statistics for our country yet we still give women cheaper insurance rates heck my Aunt even ran a cop off the road because she is such a terrible driver. She has smashed up every car she has ever owned.

My grandmother drives faster than me.....

I'm not going to say males are more responsible though, because I use to be one of those young males that street raced :earboy2: Ah....it was so much fun back then :guilty:
