Hi all,

We usually stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek, but because we are staying December 29th-January 5th they are not available to be rented. We were not expecting to be taking a trip, but I completed a surrogacy journey 2 years ago, and the family is coming to the US and we wanted to be able to see them.

We love that Bonnet Creek has the lazy rivers, pools, restaurant on site, etc. We of course don't know what the weather will be like but hoping we will have a few days out of the week to enjoy nice weather. Do you all have suggestions on places similar to the same feeling as Bonnet Creek, and where to book through?

Thank you! :hyper2:I have been scouring the forums prior to this but had not found anything.

There are many, many nice timeshare properties around the Disney area. WBC has a great location, but others are not far.

Here are some of the top-rated ones:

Marriott Lakeshore Reserve, Marriott Cypress Harbour, Wyndham / Worldmark Reunion at Orlando, Sheraton Vistana Resort, Marriott Sabal Palms.

There are also many places to book timeshares, including Redweek, ebay, go-koala and more.

With a large group, renting a house is another option.

There are a lot of good choices out there. You have to narrow it down somehow via budget, location and size.

Considering only "timeshare/condo" units like you are used to.

My first question is how far do you want to be away from the parks? 10-15 minutes, 20-30 minutes or longer. Once you settle on that you can narrow the choices.

WBC is where I would stay every time because of (1) location (2) layout of resort with access to many pools (3) large well appointed units with W/D. It has become a price point I'm no longer going to pay.

We have been staying in Marriott Vacation Club units and while I LOVE the units, the properties themselves vary.

I love Orlando Center, spitting distance from Bonnet Creek and my favorite units are Sabal Palms for several reason, including intimate atmosphere with grills, nice pool and playground. I return in October. I have stayed in their Imperial Palms twice, huge roomy 3 bedroom units with access to close by pools. Have not stayed in Royal Palms, am sure nice but layout doesn't work for us. All guests can use the big pool and slides and splash pad at the hotel's main pool. Waterpark is a different situation that so far we have been refused to use. This is the 10-15 minute range.

Grand Vista I've stayed numerous times and not my favorite. Very nice main pool but access isn't as easy at WBC depending on your room location. This is in the 20-25 minute range. Just past them are Harbor Lake and Cypress Lake. My folks enjoyed Harbor but I haven't tried either.

Lakeshore Reserve looks gorgeous and my folks LOVED it there. BUT it is not close to parks so you'll have a drive to do. But if you are having lots of resort time I would for sure look at it.

Sheraton Vistana Resort is minutes from Disney right next to World Center. Our units have always been very well appointed and had everything we need. Multiple sections and multiple pools with some food options. It is more like an apartment complex so walking to other pools isn't easy like WBC. You'll need to drive if you want to explore. Very lush and well landscaped and you park right in front of your unit. Has lots of fans and in the Review section you'll find tons of info and photos.

Sheraton Vistana Villas is up International close to Marriott Grand Vista. It has more of a resort feel. I don't mind the location and drive and enjoy so much dining and shopping around this area.

Know nothing about it but explore Lake Buena Vista Resort. In the 10-15 minute range, next to an outlet mall and dining. Looks like a really fun pool area with pirate ship. Might be a good option for families meeting together.

There are options that are West/South, lots of communities there. It's just not my choice of "area" so I have no experiences there. Maybe others will chime in. Hilton and Holiday Inn have timeshare communities you can rent.

Have you thought about Signia Bonnet Creek across the street? Beautiful resort with a huge resort pool, lazy rivers, slides, 7+ on-site restaurants, etc.

How important is proximity to the parks?

If being close is important (you are going to the parks every day and/or often take a mid-day break) I think the three Marriott Palms in Orlando World Center are probably the next best option, followed closely by Sheraton Vistana Resort (not Villages).

While not as fancy as some of the other resorts, the next closest timeshare property to Disney is Silver Lake Resort.

It has a great location near Animal Kingdom with easy access to off-site restaurants and shopping.

Ahhh thank you. Go-Koala had a listing for our dates that we were able to book, minus one night where we will stay at my Moms in St. Cloud. :) I appreciate the info from you, as well as from HopperFan and MrKnight.
