If you stay at POFQ you are gonna LOVE the
Boat to DTD. Both POR and POFQ are Beautiful.
We stayed at POR this year and visited POFQ while
we were there and will be staying there Sept. 2008.
2006 we stayed at CBR it is very nice also but we
really enjoyed the whole PO sister resorts.
POFQ is Charming!! :thumbsup2

You may want to check into when the construction at CBR begins/ends. I've read that the main pool is being worked on. Maybe someone else will have the details or check the home page of the dis I think theres an article on that. Since its January maybe the pool refurbishment won;t be a bother to you.

My vote went to POR - its the only moderate I've stayed at. We really loved it - it was a lot of fun & its a beautiful resort. We wanted to try POFQ next but our family is too big to fit w/o connecting rooms.

POFQ has such an intimate feel, a wonderful pool and a great location. Plus I feel that it has more to offer than other mods. CSR would be my 2nd choice.

We've stayed at POFQ & CSR. Both are nice & have great pools. My vote goes to CSR. It is a beautiful resort!

I voted POFQ. I love the small size, the one bus stop, and the fact that you can walk to the Food Court from every room.

I will be staying at CSR for two nights next month, but don't expect to do anything but sleep there. I'll be requesting a first floor room near a bus stop, as I just want to get out the door as early in the morning as possible and get on to the parks.

Love love love the CBR. We've stayted there twice and thoroughly enjoyed both stays.

The resort is large but that means the guests are distributed out evenly (meaning no crowds). The tropical/beach theme is carried out everywhere you look. Lots of palm trees, fruit trees, hibiscus plants and lush foliage.

Each village has their own quiet pool, beach and laundry facilities. The beaches have hammocks and beach chairs and some have small playgrounds for the kids. We have stayed in Jamaica and in Martinique villages and could see the Epcot fireworks from both locations. The laundry facilities are right next to the quiet pools which is a plus. You can swim and do laundry at the same time.

The rooms were clean when we arrived and were kept that way for our entire 10 day stay(s). Mousekeeping made sure we had plenty of towels, washcloths, toiletries and coffee.

The bus service was very efficient. The longest we waited for a bus was 20 minutes and that was in the middle of the morning...way after the morning rush. And, we had just missed the Epcot bus. We could see it pulling away as we were leaving our building. Of course, we were headed to Epcot!:rotfl: Because the CBR is centrally located, it never took us long to reach any Disney destination.

I was very suprised at the variety of foods to choose from at the food court. The Grab N Go station has fresh made sandwiches, salads, fruits, boiled eggs, yogurt, pies, cakes, sodas, beer, wine coolers and a whole lot of fresh bakery items. Another section had pizza, pasta, salads and bread. You can find burgers, chicken strips and hot dogs at another station. Rotissiere chicken and turkey with veggies can be found at a station a little further down. My husband loved the Reuben sandwiches and the same station had other deli sandwiches.

At breakfast, there is an assortment of breakfast meats, omelets, eggs, waffles and pancakes.

Shutters is the full service restaurant at the CBR. We really liked everything we ordered and our picky 9 year old found something he could eat there too.

Old Port Royale is where you will find the arcade and the store. The arcade was not real large but it was large enough to handle the June crowd of kids. The store is divided in two with one side selling beach/tropical/pirate themed items. The other side sells the more typical Disney merchandise like t-shirts, toys, hats, souveniers, watches, etc.

The main pool is supposed to be undergoing a rehab but I'm not sure when that will be. The quiet pools are the typical size pool so you can still swim.

The marina is where you can rent pontoon boats, watermice, bicycles and surrey bikes. We rented the watermice and zipped around the lake for a while. We also rented the surrey bikes twice. It was a nice and relaxing way to see the entire resort.

I hope this helps in your decision making process. Here are pictures from our latest stay:

What beautiful pictures! I'm going to have to make a visit to CBR next Disney trip. Thanks!:cool1:

Just remember the pool will be closed at CBR in January! Only the small pools will be open.

I'm amazed at all the votes for FQ. We went in April and I had a miserable experience. They gave us a room that looked like it hadn't be remodeled in about 15 years. There were tiles broken off the wall in the bathroom, mold in the shower and our TV was broken and didn't work. When I informed the front desk, it took them 3 days to fix or replace our TV. The CM's were continually rude on a daily basis (anyone can have 1 or 2 bad days, but this was everytime I would ask a simple question), and the conciege desk always had long lines and they were always rude as well. Mouskeeping threw away food in our refrig (before our stay was over), despite tipping them- which stopped immediately thereafter. The bus situation was ridiculous with POR also. I would never stay at this resort again...but I wouldn't mind trying CB- it seems to get alot of good reviews.

It's almost a tie for me between FQ and CBR, but in January would probably go with FQ - if it is cold and rainy (like it was on both of our January visits) FQ will be easier to get around...and the Lobby, Food Court, Gift Shop, evening entertainment will be in the same building. One bus stop too.

Have heard some complaints about FQ, but guess we were lucky. Our room did require immediate cleaning, but they came right up, cleaned the room, changed the bedding and gave us 6 fast passes for the delay - oh and paid for our lunch while we were waiting for the room to be cleaned.

Have not always found the CM's to be the friendliest at FQ or Riverside, but we do not interact with them everyday - food court CM's have been great.

CBR feels like a vacation within a vacation, but not sure I would enjoy it as much if we did not have a great preferred room location.

Have a wonderful visit, wherever you stay!! :)
