Resorts crowded in July?

I know how crazy crowded it is at WDW in July. I was wondering if the DVC resorts are as crowded in July? Specifically the end of the month. I don't want to not have a chair by the pool because it is crowded. I am also wondering how availability is during this time of year. DH and I are planning a short getaway alone for our anniversary and we thought why not use our points. Maybe stay at SSR and do a spa treatment and just go to nice dinners and hang by the pool. Anyone done this?

I think availability during the summer at SSR won't be a big issue. Obviously, the earlier you book the better your chances of getting what you want.

Yes, the DVC resorts are crowded during the summer. Keep in mind that although many people like to go in less crowded, less hot times of the year it is still true that for many people this is their only real time of the year they can go. So expect crowded resorts, and yes in the summer heat the pools can get very crowded. We have found the quiet pools to be a little less crowded but never empty during our summer visits.

It is not a high DVC demand time and you can often find something by calling only a few months out at SSR, BWV preferred (pool and graden view), or OKW. However, the resorts are still crowded (when DVC members are not taking the rooms, Disney will be doing its best to rent leftover inventory) and the pools usually are when it is hot even if the rooms are not filled up.
