We're planning a trip for June and staying at POR. We have the QS plan, and will be brining lots of snacks in our suitcases. DH and I like to have a drink at night, so I was considering ordering from Garden Grocer or MrGrocer.

Their prices Re higher than home, and I'm sure the resort is also higher. But does anyone now approximately how much beer and wine cost from the resort store?

Thanks in advance!

I don't drink so I can't give you exact prices but I know I have followed threads before wherein it was discussed. I thought they said it would cost $30 a sixpack and I was shocked. Most people suggested going to the hess station by the Boardwalk or making a stop somewhere.

Bring your beer & wine from home! A six pack of cheap beer was around $35!! My DH likes a drink in the evening while he is winding down, so he brought a small bottle of bourbon in his checked luggage.

Florida is fairly cheap for hard liquor, it can be bought at Walgreen's & some other stores.

Thanks so much for the replies!!! I figured it would be high, but not that high!

We are flying, so can only bring so much. We will definitely order from a delivery service!

We were told to buy plastic containers and put our "beverages" in them and then put them in carry on or check in suitcase. Since we get the free refillable mugs, we have all the mixer we want. We also have a cheap plastic pitcher (found at local St. Vincents and bleached out) that we brew ice tea in and put in the frig, so when we want something cold but not just water or pop, we have something refreshing. (The Moroccan Mint tea by Stash tastes just like the one they serve at Morocco). BTW, I throw the pitcher away when we leave so it's one less thing to haul back.
We aren't big drinkers but another friend suggested we buy the mini bottles of wine here and fly them down. They are easy to keep in the frig and can be used whenever.
We also carry snacks and such so we have an empty carry on for the return since the none of it comes home!:cool1:

It's wise thought, things that you can buy at half price from your town, you have to pay more there. You should bring all the necessary things that you should think , you must have during picnic. have fun with saving money. Smart thought:-)

I don't know if a delivery service will make sense if all you are ordering is alcohol. They have a minimum $-amount per order requirement usually don't they?

I would just take a taxi down to a nearby store for a quick shopping trip.

I heard that you can also go to Hess across the street from Planet Hollywood in DTD.
