Someone said the same thing on a car rental thread, and I commented that it should be possible to join online and order online. The main reason I keep my Costco membership is rental cars and travel. (Just a random thought for anyone reading this thread.)

You would think this is the Four Seasonsand many of these deluxe rooms don't justify the price as far as theming - you're paying to be close to parks.

Very interesting concept. We love AKV but have never done Club Level. My philosophy about DVC has always been buy the most cost effective (most of my points are at SSR for this reason) and book at 7 months. So far it's worked for us every time, but then again, we never tried to book any of the ultra popular rooms (CL for example). We just stayed a week each at BWV and BCV in July, both booked at the 7 month mark. Although I've never checked availability at either until booking this last trip, my guess is the availability was due to COVID, since I booked them in December when things were still much more uncertain than they are now.Might be worth buying DVC if you enjoy returning to CL at AKL frequently. For a spoof I joked with DH about a 6 night stay AKV Studio from Dec 3-9 2022 with Club Level access for $1,200 complete including all taxes, fees, parking and up to 4 adults. Alternating nights with a Club Level & Value AKV studio gives continuous access to CL since it’s offered on both check in and check out days, but you’d need to move rooms every day. Those 7 days/6 nights would cost 97 points. Ownership is about $12 per point/year between dues and buy-in. So… less than $1200 for 4 people staying at AK all week and using the lounge

Those are the hardest to book room categories in all of DVC. I would never recommend purchasing AKV with the expectation of consistently booking those rooms, especially using the "every other night" approach that you suggest. If you're talking about the first week of September for this year they've already had a discount running for a while, it's only 25%, and runs through the end of the month. No discounts after that, and doesn't look like they're going to be plentiful if any after. If you haven't gone to look I would definitely go see if there are any discounts left, if you don't see any then you probably already missed out and all the discounted rooms have been booked up. I have a trip end of August-beginning of September and had an AP discount booked at BWI, and before that had a GP discount at another resort (but have since switched to rack at Poly for a standard room, which is still not horrible for what I would expect a Poly room with no discount, it's a splurge for sure but it's a price I expect for this time of year). Any time leading up to Christmas and right after is going to be insanely expensive, it has always been that way, I always expect to spend several hundred more dollars a night during this time. We were able to get a TPV room at CR with an AP discount this year for a little over $600, but no way I would pay rack for those since they were going for around $1000 a night for christmas week when we were there
