Im sorry for starting a new thread, but Im new to this board and all the abbriviations used have me lost. So I really cant find what Im looking for. LOL

I just booked a land/sea vacation with Disney Cruise Line for May 2003.
The Resorts that I have to choose from are, Polynesian, Caribbean Beach Club and The Wilderness Lodge.
I had my TA put me down for the Polynesian, but I can easily have that switched.
Can you tell me what of the 3 you prefer? Are they all close to the attractions or at least the monorail?

Only the Polynesian has the monorail access out of the 3. the WL is the next closest.

I would go with the Polynesian. For more info go to the link below.

I think you might be confused. Do you mean the Beach Club or the Carribean Beach resort. VERY different. My gues is that you mean the Beach Club, as the CBR is a moderate and the tohers are deluxes. If you mean the BC, I would go with that.

It depends on who is in your party. If it is just adults, go with Beach Club. The access to Epcot's World Showcase and a jillion restaurants (in Epcot, Boardwalk, and Yacht and Beach Club Resorts) make the Beach Club a better place for adults. My husband and I spent every evening at the World Showcase on our last trip.

If you have small children, I would consider the Wilderness Lodge or Poly for the access to Magic Kingdom. Poly is on the monorail, but I prefer the WL theming. The lobby is beautiful and is probably the best on property, in my opinion.

Personally, I would go with Beach Club in any case! (I just love that access to Epcot!)

The beach CLub has great access (walking or boat) to both Epcot and MGM. It's a ten minute bus ride to the MK, and even shorter to the AK. The pool there is the best on property. The rooms are much larger than at WL, although somewhat smaller than at the Poly.

There are many dining options within a ten minute stroll.

I would check out the pictures they have here at the DIS and also at Deb's site www.wdwig.com

Look at the resorts and see what themeing you like:

Polynesian - South Seas/Hawaiian theme - largest rooms out of the three, beach, boat rentals, Monorail

Wilderness Lodge - Giant Log Cabin (my kinda' campping :) ), beach, boat rentals, some rooms have bunk beds (if you have kids it's nice for them), boat to Magic Kingdom

Beach Club - New England Beach resort (lots of bright white & blue), beach, boat rentals (better at other 2 - bigger lake), walkway/boat to Epcot & Studios.

So, consider theme and location - what do you like/what's your tastes. Where are you going to go/spend most of your time? Go check out those pictures and maps.

If you have kids who like to play in the pool, it's hard to beat Beach Club's Stormalong Bay which they bill as a mini waterpark. It has a slide for big and little kids, lots of waterfall-ish stuff, a zero-level entry, sand-bottom area, a lazy river current for tubes, etc. It's very fun!

We're going in April for the 7 day land and sea.. and we were offered the same choices. Originally, we went with the Poly.. but then to the WL. Why? It's my dh's favourite, after visiting there on our last visit to WDW. And because it's breathtaking. And because I have read almost nothing at all negative about this resort absolutely anywhere.

Wilderness Lodge is the bomb! Well actually, I have never stayed there, but I will in less than 2 months! WOOHOO!

Thanks for all the help! Because the Polynesian being close to transportation, great things Ive read about it, including something about an electric parade being right there..Im keeping our reservation just the way it is.

Yes, the Electrical Water Pageant goes by at 9:00pm. You can watch it right from the beach, where the view is absolutely breathtaking, day or night! Also, if you are around, try to catch the torch lighting ceremony at 6:00pm in front of the Great Ceremonial House. Another nice Disney touch that adds to the atmosphere.
We love the Poly! I think you made a great choice. Have a great trip!
