Which resorts have a nice enough QS or food court to take a break from the park and drive to for lunch. We will be leaving MK and would like to see a resort or two. We will have a car, so it doesn't have to be limited to a monorail resort.

The group is me, Mimi62, DD7, Niece12. This is my Mom's 2nd trip (1st 1998), my nieces 1st, and DD and I go each year.

Last year we stayed at POP and thought the food court wasn't bad and DD loved the game room. We have also been to Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club and Beach Club for dinner. We will be going to Chef Mickeys one night.

DD would love a fun game room too. Which resort would be nice to take a break at and have lunch reasonably priced.

The ASMusic has a nice QS with a pizza window and an amazing parfait  I have never done the game room however.

The best game room that i have done is Contemporary but i cant eat at the Contempo Cafe because my brother is deathly allergic to nuts and they have pesto. I have heard good things though. And they have cool shops :cool1:

The Polynesians QS (Capt. Cooks) is good they have a really good Hawaiian pulled pork and flatbreads. Their arcade is a little weak though but the overall hotel is cool and if you continue down the hallway with the QS and Arcade it leads you outside to a dock with boats that is nice and peaceful. :cloud9:

I don't want to go to the Contemporary as we are already going to be going there to go to Chef Mickeys, so we can check out the arcade then. The pork at the Polynesian sounds yummy! It might be nice to just get on the monorail and go there are then we could check out the Grand Floridian too.

Any other suggestions for hotel QS. As I said it doesn't have to be a monorail resort as I will have a car and don't mind driving. Will we have to pay to park or have any trouble parking at one of the resorts or is it no charge as long as we are saying we are eating.

AKL is a really nice resort- Boma's is a great restaurant (in my family's opinion). Different foods & different atmosphere- and you may see the animals on the savannah. Not sure they have an arcade. And Fort Wilderness also has a cool area- Trail's End is the rest. there (mixed reviews but we like it), and they have the horses near by, the marina, a game room, and a petting zoo in the resort. Just some ideas- at FW you can park at the front and take the bus into the marina area! Have fun!

Aren't both of those TS though. I really only want a CS as we already have our TS picked out for dinner (some on site and some off). The arcade isn't really that importand and would be a deal breaker. I really just want to go to a resort with a nice QS and one that we would enjoy exploring if they allow that.

Mara is the QS at AKL. We really enjoyed our food there. There is an arcade, not huge but it does have quite a few games in it. You could also go to the overlooks and watch the animals while you are there, and explore the lobby.

One of the allearsnet.com bloggers recently did a review of Port Orleans Rivreside. I haven't been there, but their food court sounded good and it look like a lovely resort. You'd also be close to DTD (coult take the boat from POR or drive).

Port Orleans Riverside Food Court is awesome! The area is just cool too! You can take a walk around the old man river and just look around! POFQ is right there also!

I highly suggest Capt. Cook's @ the Poly for lunch. For an early dinner, Trails to Go has a great fried chicken meal that can feed everyone in your group: 'Giddyup and Go' for $22- 10 pieces of chicken, 2 large sides, and biscuits or cornbread for 4 (or white meat for $26). The sides are macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, beans, coleslaw, or fries. They open at 4:30 pm & you can drive there or take the ferry from MK to Ft. Wilderness.

Captain Cook's is a tasty choice for CS at the Polynesian. Love that you can also get Dole Whip here. Haven't been to the arcade here in quite awhile.

The Mara at AKL is a good choice in my opinion. This is a beautiful resort to visit, too. We like to walk around and check out the animals. We checked out the arcade - it isn't bad.

Roaring Fork at the WL isn't a bad choice. Although we do prefer breakfast to dinner/lunch. The resort is very pretty and there is quite a bit to see there. My husband and son enjoyed the arcade as well.

POR is a nice place to visit and the Rivermill is quite good, but I don't know that I would make an effort to head out that way if I wasn't staying there.

Captain Cook's at the Poly is always a good choice. We may try Roaring Forks at WL again this year, as we haven't eatne there since 2002. Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary was decent.

I think the QS at Port Orleans French Quarter & Riverside are both decent too. French Quarter has Beignets (deep fried dough) that are really yummy if cooked right.

Mara at AKL has some of the yummy desserts from Boma like Zebra Domes.

Gasparilla Grill & Games is at Grand Floridian if you want to check out that resort. They have some interesting items on their menu.

Each resort seems to have something available in their QS/Food Court that you can't get anywhere else.

The one at Coranado Springs, Pepper Market has a great variety to choose from but they do charge everyone a service fee because they bring you beverages to you. It's a good place to go to get value for your QS dining credits if you are on the dining plan.

I also think Pepper Market is great. My DH loves that he can get a steak at a QS restaurant. I think the charge is just 10% of your bill. Well worth it and a bonus that it is on the dining plan.
