Hi all,
I'm going to be staying at the WL in June and was wondering if all the resorts still deliver your purchases to your room. ie. if I buy souvenirs at Epcot or MK, can I have them delivered to our room instead of toting them around.

Thanks!

I believe they now deliver them to the gift shop in you resort.

They used to deliver to your room 2 years ago when we were there.

Oh, and I believe if you stay concierge, they go to your room.

I'ts been my experience in the past year or so that even concierge guests don't get their packages delivered right to their room.

Also, if you buy anything breakable, I'd think twice about having it delivered, I've had a couple of times that my breakable arrived smashed to bits. Also last year they lost a limited edition with a low number on me.

Wow Anne,

I'm amazed at all the bad luck you have had at your many visits to WDW. Seems like most of your posts mention something gone wrong.

I truly have been very lucky. I've never had any broken items, and boy have we bought stuff.

Anyway, I confirmed with Concierge that my packages would be delivered directly to our room.

Thanks for the heads up though

I bought a big box of candy and was told that food items couldn't be delivered. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Oh,

I takes a day or two. I think they say they'll have it to your resort within 48 hours. So make sure you leave enough days for the stuff to be delivered.

Simba's mom - I don't know about food. Although I could have sworn we had lollipops and candy stuff delivered back. I could be wrong. Maybe because it was included with t-shirts and other things.

Give the resort a call. I'm sure they'll give you a definite (In Disney's terms) answer.

They will not deliver food items. DW and I bought some Mickey pasta and had to carry it with us.

Thanks for confirming exiles.

I wasn't sure about the food. I'll make sure I buy that stuff on the last day.

they had Mickey pasta??
How cool is that.

Thanks everyone!
I'll wait and see what the "rule" is in June :smooth:

Lizzie,
Be sure to post a trip report when you get back...I love hearing about other honeymooners in Disney.

They won't deliver the day before you check out. But you can always have packages sent to the front of the park & pick them up on your way out.

I'll definitely post a trip report when I get back, but I'm curious as to why you think I'm a honeymooner. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for 16 years.

Never had any problem getting packages delivered right to our room (concierge), food included.:D

Now I did not recieve a package from MK that I had shipped to my home. They replaced everything.

It depends on where you stay as to whether or not your packages go to your room or to the giftshop.

Also, I have had fragile items broken also. Now I have them wrap them INCREDIBLY well before putting them in a box, then a bag. I have seen the packages thrown around just like luggage in an airport.

It is a nice perk though. I still do it even with the breakage I've had in the past.

I bought an Epcot snowglobe a couple of weeks ago and had it delivered to AKL. They didn't wrap it well and the Mickey arm by the globe was broken off. AKL had someone go over and get me another one. It was wrapped REALLY well the second go round. The Mouse Gear shop at Epcot wrote me a really nice post card message and gave me 2 Sorcerer Mickey pins.

The food issue must be new because I had stuff delivered to me last November. Bummer...

I had a limited edition Radko Christmas ornament sent to me last year and from the time I walked away from it after giving to the clerk to ship, till the moment I unwrapped it and checked EVERY detail, I was freaked out! It was fine, but definitely not worth the worry. This year I'll carry my own breakables!

We bought some items and had them delivered to FW ... the CM gave them to someone else as they were checking out! They get sloppy about requiring that you have your receipt and then they don't check the names well either. The items had been on clearance so could not be replaced, so we were given our money back.

HOWEVER, our CC# was on the package receipt and so I had to call right away and have our card canceled and a replacement sent (arrive by FedEx to front desk next day).

I'd really be hesitant about letting them forward anything to your resort that couldn't be replaced!!!

i have good luck with package delivery
nothing broken, or anything like that.
i did buy the mickey pasta (along with other items) and had the whole thing delivered.

Lizzie,
I'm sorry...I've been in lala land the last couple of weeks. I just saw the girl and boy with the mickey and minnie hats in your signature and assumed it meant honeymoon.

You're entitled. Your getting married in a couple of months. Actually its my husband, me and the 4 kids.

But I think of us as honeymooners sometimes. I'm actually going to surprise hubby with a "re-hitching"ceremony at the Garden Grille in Epcot.
