So if you are staying at a resort, can you park at other resorts? For example, if we are staying at Fort Wilderness, but want to part at Saratoga Springs to take the boat to Downtown Disney is this permissable? We have a rental car and could just park at DTD, but I thought that the boat might be fun. TIA! :goodvibes

Aleisha: Welcome to the Dis ! & how exciting 1st trip !!

It's a yes and no answer: Yes anyone, whether staying on site or off, is welcome to visit any resort to eat at a restaurant, shop, or just have a look around. The No comes into play because you may be told by the security host or hostess at the entrance kiosk that you can't. ( They have their reasons ) So you can try.

This is not yes and no its NO period. You can park at a different resort when you are at that resort for a meal or some other reason but when you leave your car needs to leave with you. You cannot park at a resort and go to a park, DTD, water park or another resort and leave your car. Also its not fair to the people that paid to stay at that resort and can't find a parking spot at the end of the day because the lot is full of car that people left there to go to a park. My home DVC resort is BWV and this is a big problem and is against Disney rules at any resort.

However, it is my understanding that you can always pay to valet. And if you are staying at a hotel where you are paying to valet your car, that charge covers you for all your valet parking for the day, at any other resort.

::yes:: Great point I forgot about that

My vote is it's can be either yes or no.

As an onsite quest you have a parking pass and most places will have no problem with you parking. So yes you can.

If it's a crazy busy time or a resort next to a park then they might give you a 3 hour pass or tell you there is no non guest parking. So no you can't.

There seems to be no hard and fast rule in most real life situations. People will absolutely tell you No you can't but it's up to the resort attendant and except for specific situations they are pretty lenient.

So no harm in trying. I've never been denied parking (though I prefer to park at TTC for MK area stuff knowing that if it is peak season the resorts will be just as crazy as the parking lots) so most of the time I go ahead and try. I've done this as an onsite quest and as an offsite quest with an AP.

As far as DTD. I like taking the boat from POFQ, with a beignet stop before or after. LOL
