We've never had a resort only ressie. Looking at my papers = $xxx "Balance Due: December 01, 2012". We check-in on 12/1/2012.

So do we just pay at the front desk when checking in, or are we supposed to pay no later than 12/1, which would be 11/30?

Is there a risk at waiting to full pay upon checkin - they overbook & those who paid ahead and/or arrived early got the rooms & we didn't?

Also, we are switching from POFQ to FtW Cabin - never have switched resorts either. Anything special we must do to switch from one WDW resort to another? Or just simply check out & then check in? We will have a car so not concerned about storing luggage. However, we will have lots of free DDP food leftover to transfer from POFQ to FtW (no DDP there). If we don't get in our cabin quickly, I guess we could buy a cheap styrofoam cooler & use POFQ ice to store our food.

You can pay your balance either at the resort when you check in or you can call and pay it off any time before that if you would like..and for your split stay it will be pretty easy for you since you will have your own car. You just leave the first resort and drive to the second one and check in. If your room is not ready they will send you a text when it becomes available.

If there were to be an overbooking situation, it's typically the late arrivals that have issues - and I'm talking about really late arrivals. It doesn't make a difference if you are booked on a package or room only, it has to do with when they run out of rooms to put people in. Disney doesn't have this issue as often as other hotels do, but it does happen occasionally.

As far as when you pay the balance on the room, are you paying by cash or cc? I paid cash a couple times, and paid in full when I checked in. However, when I pay by credit card, they don't charge the card until check out day (at least I haven't seen the charges hit my card until then).

Thanks fla4fun. You are really close to the destination everyone on this board covets!

We always planned to move to & rent a condo in Celebration after retirement. When we first retired, we spent the winters in Disney area in our RV. But all of a sudden, by Jan 15, we couldn't breathe! The yellow/green pollen had never bothered us, then whamo! - like a ton of bricks. Makes us so sad. We tried this last March & the pollen still bothers us.

So now we are stuck with only visiting between Thanksgiving & Christmas. So much for plans!

Thanks Carlyluvsdisney. And enjoy your soon to be POFQ stay!!

Thanks! I changed my reservations to AKL but I forgot to update that in my signature until now:confused3 POFQ is my favorite resort and I always plan on staying there and then I get a great discount for a different resort and my plans change. It was only about $10 more per night for AKL which is my DH's favorite resort so I could'nt pass it up!

You pay when you check in on Room Only reservations. Now I have made payments towards the room before hand, but still except for your first night's deposit (due when you made your reservation) no payment till arrival needed.

You also have a 5 day window to cancel or change without penalty instead of the standard 40 day limit with packages.

Bell services has a fridge to store cold items but they do need to be contained somehow not just a bunch of loose items. (at least that's how we've done it in the past.)
