Resort Mugs

How many do you have and do you re use them? We have mugs from all 3 All Star resorts aswell as Coronado Springs Dixie Landings OKW Wilderness Lodge and I think BWV is the other place. Do you re use your mugs on subsequent trips? When we bought our mugs the CM's told us we could bring them back for every visit now some resorts this is easier to do than others. We will re use our All Star mugs but BWV and OKW are a pain to use as you seem to be so far from the refill station. CSR we bring with us also just in case we make our way over to the pepper market for dinner. So how many do you have and do you use them?

We just returned from a stay @ Pop Century and I was amazed at how many people had refillable mugs from just about every resort and were using them at Pop. The other thing I noticed was tons of people using the small cups intended for water to fill up w/soda. Not a single CM said anything to anyone. This is definitely something management looks the other way on even though there were signs posted at every beverage station that mugs were only valid during the stay in which they were purchased (as well as being printed on the mug handle).

Well, lets see....3 from Dixie Landings, 3 from POR, 3 from Polynesian, 2 from Boardwalk, 2 from AllStarMusic, 2 from Pop, 3 from Beach Club, 1 from Typhoon Lagoon. I use my Pop mug every day for my morning coffee. Dd used her for hot cocoa in school. The others sit on a shelf in the basement.

So.....that's probably not what you asked, is it??!!! Most of my mugs state on them that they are good for the duration of the trip they were bought and only for that particular resort.
Do people use them at different resorts? Yep. They use anything they can pour soda into.....mugs, cups, thermos's..whatever.
Have I reused a mug at WDW? No. Too much trouble to cart them back and forth. But that being said....I might bring my Pop mug back for my one night stay in Dec. I'll be eating two meals there, one of which is breakfast on my departure day. And I did just buy it in August. Does this make it 'right'? No, it doesn't. I can't be bothered worrying about the fact that others are filling up those 'big gulp' cups at the resorts. I'm there to have a good time. But, I will say.....this time at Pop, if I do reuse my mug, will be the time a CM decides to enforce the current rule!!!! I could be going to 'refillable mug' jail. But, it's just for 2 drinks.

Actually that is a great answer as we never use ours at home but we bring back certain ones for our yearly Dec trips. None of our mugs say only for length of stay mind you ours were all bought early on in 96 and 98. Our OKW mug was bought in 01 and our VWL was at the same time in 01. At that time there were no signs about mugs being for that stay only and all teh CM's we spoke to confirmed they were good for any subsiquent trip back. I see the new mugs and the signs now have this stated. So I will continue to use my older mugs for refills at the resorts but won't re use the new ones. We also bring our BB jug with us and just purchase a new bar code to stick on it while at the waterpark.

Before our last trip we did a big clean out of mugs and tumblers we wernt using and we gave 15 travel mugs from Disneyworld spanning I would say almost 10 years of trips. We now have two. From All star music. DH uses his everyday on the subway or GO train to work. Mine is my feel better mug. When Im sick I get out my mug and make hotchocolate and snuggle up under the blankets and dream about feeling better and being back at Disneyworld.

We will be buying new mugs when we go in Feb/06. DH's is getting a bit well fadded. Mine is good. I dont feel like lugging my old mug around on the trip down. I dont mind spending 11.99 for my mug.

Too many to count and I use them at home I don't bring them back, as the policy has changed and is stated so at the Food Courts and on the new mugs and if I want another one I can afford to buy a new one.

I guess they assume most can read the signs and understand what they mean without having to strong arm enforce the policy.

We have mugs from, WL, AKL, GF, POLY, YC, BC, and CSR. We use them around the house and during our commute.

We have never reused them at WDW.

How often do they change the designs on the mugs? If you go to the same resort on all of your trips, it would be nice to at least get a different looking mug each year.

Along a similar line of my previous post, I wish that the handles/lids came in a selection of colors. That way, we can more easily tell our mugs apart when we're at the food court.

4 WL, 3 CBR, 2 AS's and 1 POP ... and a partridge in a peartree! Actually, I have 2 more new mugs from our past trip. Bought one at OKW (what a pain to get it refilled) and it just had a DVC logo on it. The very next day, the mug changed to a much prettier one, which the CM said was the new one that would be around for the next year or so. So of course had to buy it. No logo, no resort name, neither said "good only at location purchased". So I'm thinking "great, they have special DVC-type mugs that change periodically since they know these people return regularly, and maybe I'll get to use them for the last few nights at BCV during our split stay" ... NOT!

And yes, I am one of those people that bought mugs when they didn't have signs, didn't have printing on them, and was told repeatedly by CM's to bring 'em back ... so if I feel like carting them when we're scheduled for those resorts, I'll bring those ones back. Yes I can afford new ones, but for the ones where I was sold them with the promise to reuse them, I feel they're grandfathered and will continue to use them. I've discussed this with Disney exec offices before, and all they'll comment on is "mugs purchased NOW are good only for the length of that stay at that resort" ... they won't comment on the old ones.

I have mugs from AKL, CSR, POR, Beach Club, WL, CBR, Contemporary, and POP. And an old red one from Dixie Landings and an old pink one from CBR. Yes, I do reuse mugs on other trips with no ounce of guilt whatsoever. But I will only use mugs that look the same as the one's still currently being used. For instance, I will not use my red Dixie Landings one since there is now a purple POR one instead. I drive to WDW so it's no problem bringing all those mugs with me on a trip!

I bought 'em new on ebay and now I take them back every trip. One I save special to take to the partks and rinse off DD's behind over the water fountain when I change her diaper!!

Hey hockey equipment and motorcycles are far more important than a new mug LOL. Plus I keep dumping all my money into DVC LOL. Actually Sammie to give you an idea I have as much moiney tied up in my goalie equipment as I do in my first 150 point DVC contract so that could put it into perspective for you LOL.
