Another question for the extended hours. I know that I have to bring my children's resort in order to get a bracelet for them during the night-time extra hours (even though that is one more thing to keep up with). Do they scan them or look at them or what? Where do we go to get the bracelets and how long does it take to get them? Also what time do we need to get them? Are the parks more crowded during night-time hours? Any help would be great. We leave Tuesday!!!

2 more days till disney!!!

They were scanning each room ID in an handheld scanner at Disney Studios when we were there this summer. It would read the name, dates of your trip, etc. And you could only do it once. Wristband pickups are located in various spots in the parks beginning a few hours before the regular park closing.

This summer the EMH nights were impossible. In January they weren't bad.

We utilized EMH evening for the first time in July at MK. DH fumbled around and could not find my and DD10's room keys (we have APs). they made us move to the side till he could locate them. All they do is look at each room key before issuing the bracelets, they put them on you themselves, right there. They start issuing them around 4PM I think. We got ours at the entrance to MK. It was very very crowded that night, we only stuck around till 11:30 PM when MK ws going to be open till 2 AM. Too many people for us! Hopefully this time will be better.

You would have your children's resort keys with you anyway, because that is how they get admitted to the parks. Two hours prior to park closing, you can start obtaining bracelets at a variety of locations around the parks. I saw one family getting their bracelets at least two hours after the regular hours. They scan the resort keys with a little hand held computer to verify that the key is still valid and that it has not yet been used to obtain a bracelet. As far as the crowd levels, our EMH night was a Wednesday at MK. The night was not crowded during the extra hours and we walked on to several rides. The longest wait was about 7 minutes at Splash Mountain, but it was closed during the day so that may have been why it was busier than other rides. I noticed that MK was busier that day, which I would think was because it was extra hours.

Have fun!

...we're planning to hop into a park after regular park closing time? Can we do this - just show our park hopper pass at the gates say around 10:30 pm if the park closes at midnight? Do we then also get a bracelet?

We just returned this weekend and they were scanning all resort IDs. I saw many times that the CMs asked families to stand aside while they located ALL of the resorts IDs. The scanners sort out expired IDs vs current active IDs. I did see lots of folks entering the parks after the EMH had begun and had to show their resort IDs when using the turnstiles with their tickets. It didn't seem to be a problem entering after hours as long as you are a resort guest.

BTW: we were there in July and they were not scanning IDs, but after our trip last week, all of the parks and CMs now have the hand-held scanners. If your card has already been scanned for the evening, it will tell the CMs, so that people can't share their resort IDs with non-resort guest.

That's not necessarily the case -- if you buy your tickets at the Disney store or ahead of time they won't be on the key.

dinomom96, as long as you are an onsite resort guest (and everyone with you is too!) then you can 'park hop' to the EMH park that evening. We did this in August when we stayed at the Beach Club Resort - we went to EPCOT EMH about an hour before EMH ended.

That's what I wanted to here! We're going to be at AK all day and then want to take advantage of EMH at EPCOT.
