Does anyone know if resort guests will be allowed to visit other resorts. Thinking of doing a resort only trip in August. Probably staying at BLT. I would like to go over to WL and eat at Geyser Point.

I think they are saying on site guests can be admitted with a reservation to another resort. I’m not sure you can visit without an ADR though. That seems to be the question for quick service. We shall see!

Unless they check everyone getting on WDW transportation, I don’t know how they can stop people.

It has been reported that the guards will not let people in who are driving or ride sharing without either resort or dining

Right now, only buses will be to DS...so I agree unless they decide to somehow check, that might be possible.

Once parks open, it may be harder to stop and who knows exactly how it will play out in practice.

As PP mentions, the Disney guidance currently out there is that you will need a resort reservation or ADR for a resort TS in order to visit another resort. I would not be surprised if wristbands or something similar are implemented that will denote the resort you're staying at. This is how its done at Aulani, and its monitored relatively well. If that doesn't happen, I would imagine some kind of checkpoint at the main resort entrances will be in place, assuming Disney is serious about enforcing the rules. If not being able to visit another resort is a deal breaker for you, I'd re-consider. Or wait and see how reports are before you decide whether to cancel or not.

Used to be only a resort guest could use the bus to/from that resort. They gave you a plastic card that looked similar to KTTW cards that were called "Transportation Card" and it had your name, resort etc printed on it. We had to show the bus driver in order to board the bus. I still have some. They could do it via a scanner with your MagicBand or room key or KTTW they are bringing back next year.

It would make good sense to return to this if for nothing else reduce the number of people they have to transport in order to keep some social distancing in play. And with the space issue, if I book a resort I really don't want to share my food court, bars etc with any more people than I have to.

They are already going to have to work over and above for safe transport, no reason to add to the burden. But time will tell if their commitment to safety holds.
