Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

You guys are moving too fast, or I am too slow...either way it's all good..oldest DS told me he's enlisted in the Army. I am VERY happy for him. He was supposed to go into the Marines, he signed up on his 17th Bday, and a week before leaving to Parris Island, they said it was a NO GO because of a old leg fracture (which they knew about all along). He took it very hard. It's like he's all lit up again. He'll be in Boot camp when we are on vacation. It's kinda funny, because I avoided his calls all week I thought I was getting bad news, or his DGF was preggers or something...He only calls when something is wrong:rotfl: Thanks to all for letting me share the news:yay:

I wish your son all the best since that is what he wants to do, I admire him so much.

Mine is under the entertainment center gathering dust. :rolleyes1

:lmao:

whew!! and all I did today was change 1 little ADR!

even one change a day is good :thumbsup2

Heck! Go ahead and stay there anyway!! We all are kids at heart (especially at Disney)!

Then DH would have me commited :rotfl::rotfl:

Or when they need $$$ :lmao: Congrats to your DS! :)

Isn't that the truth!

I really like this waffle idea! Clever!!!:thumbsup2

Do tell, how do you get such a cool gig???? popcorn::

Sounds "dreamy". :cloud9: Hope it works out so you can tell us ALL about it.

Will do

BTW, I just LOVED your April Solo Trip Report. :hippie: Even though I live only 1-1/2 hours away, a DIS trip isn't a trip for me unless I stay on DIS property. No fun if I can't "RC". :goodvibes

Shouldn't Liberty Square count????? :rotfl2:

Boy we all ARE alike in other ways than RCing. Mine still has the shrink wrap on it... :lmao:

Great news, and plenty of time to change again. :goodvibes

I saw a report on TV about bad injuries with the toning shoes. I've never owned a pair, though.

Congratulations! So glad your son is happy. :)

I'm good with him just living with the DGF, she's nice but a bit older (30 and he's 19). I just don't want him to rush into anything. I support him whatever he chooses, and he knows I want him to have his life in check before he becomes a dad (I had him when I was 16, so he's heard the speech since he was a baby:lmao:)

Carefull what you wish for, Just saying.......I always thought my oldest would make me a grandmother early and just like you cautioned about it even putting condoms in their xmas stockings one year............ I had him when I was just shy of my 17th birthday.
We here I am today 58 yrs young and not one grandbaby and time is running out :sad1:

Well if he does get married. I smell Disney wedding:rotfl:

I pushed for a Disney wedding for my DSs, one chose to get married in Vegas, the other up and got married at City Hall in NYC :headache:

pas130 ~ Congratulations to your son!! Nothing better for a mother than seeing her child happy. Takes a lot of courage to join the military, but I can tell you my dad joined at 17 and stayed for 27 years - so I grew up in a military family and it was quite an experience! Thank you to your DS and you for his desire to service.:goodvibes

Hey  to all our RCers! Y'all are moving like wildfire the last couple of days!!:woohoo: Sorry I'm not posting more, but enjoying the posts when I have a chance to check in.:thumbsup2

Hannah, very glad you are safe. I am in NC in a tornado alley and what a year it has been for warnings and horrible lightening storms. Stay safe!!:goodvibes

Darn, sure wish I had an excuse (and the funds) to get down to WDW for a few days in August for the RC Meet! What fun it will be!! Not that I count :rotfl:, but would probably vote for DTD in case someone was not going in a park that day.:thumbsup2

WDWKOOK I love the Mickey waffle idea...

You have done really well, mom:hug:. What a challenge it must have been for you to have DS at 16 - I can't imagine. You've raised a fine DS. Please tell Eric how proud I am of him. I know he doesn't know me from Adam, but I want him to know that he's done a great thing making a sacrifice like that. Only about one percent of the population serve in the US military. It's a noble, selfless and admirable act to serve. Does DS have his MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) yet?

I was 19 when I got married (had DD at 30) and DH retired as an Air Force officer 4 years ago. We have absolutely no regrets about serving and I think your DS will gain a lot. The benefits are great (we love DH's pension) and do I have to remind you that your DS is now eligible to purchase the discounted Armed Forces Salute tix (in unlimited quantities) and he can also book rooms for you at 40% off through 9/12!

The Tag Fairy needs to visit the RC thread::yes::

Wow, another very young mom, like Dani and pas130. Am I seeing a trend here? Many of us have either married young, had children young or both. Is that the recipe for future WDW resort changing:confused3

Wildfire indeed! I'm away from the DIS for the day and bam! A new chapter has been written.

I'm glad everyone likes the Mickey Waffle idea, but it looks like I'll miss you guys since we depart the Poly on August 5th:guilty:

I was coming anyway :lmao:
:rotfl2::lmao:
Me, too;)

Isn't Eric's DGF's parents paying for the wedding anyway? When should we start planning and changing all the non-existent wedding plans:hyper:? We don't want to get too involved yet in Hannah's plans seeing that her parents are picking-up the tab, but we can go all out for Eric's wedding:thumbsup2.

Let the planning and changing begin!

Maybe that's why we have such a hard time committing to things :rotfl: I'm already planning our next trip. Be on the lookout for a new ticker sometime soon!

:hyper:Oooo, Oooo don't you need our really helpful advice before you commit to a ticker?

Oh boy... not me. :upsidedow I married at 35 and am childless...except for DH. But I am still a "champeen" RCer!

Holy cow...y'all move fast on here! Y'all are teaching me the art of the 'mulit-quote'...by the time I finish my TR, I'll be an expert thanks to this thread!

Wish I could meet some of you in August....you people crack me up! But...not an option since I will be back in school. We go back really early since we get out in May. Whatever happened to going back after Labor Day??!!

Speaking of RCing...I completely forgot about the Swan/Dolphin giving teacher discounts (another Diser reminded me of that...ZuZu03!!) This could be a possible option for a quick October trip during Fall Break:rolleyes1 I was thinking FW, but here's another option that is actually cheaper....there's only 1 problem....DH was thinking NOTHING at all! Hmmmm....got to change his mind.

When I had my DD at 24 in '72 the Drs said I was considered an "older" first time mother!! :confused3 Looked like I was 15, but that's irrelevant.:rotfl: DS was born in '73, but not a word was mentioned about my age that time...had a woman OB that time though.

COME ON TAG FAIRY, visit some RCers!!!!

Of course I'm going to need help! All I know is that it WILL be TPV next time we go :) as far as which resort, well that's entirely in the air. For now I say Poly or GF but I'm sure CR will be thrown into the mix. I could go for the trifecta and stay at all 3! ;) Now that would be  Just start at CR then move to Poly and lastly GF. I'll just make the monorail loop :rotfl:

Janet, any updates on making a committment??

BTW, I just LOVED your April Solo Trip Report. :hippie: Even though I live only 1-1/2 hours away, a DIS trip isn't a trip for me unless I stay on DIS property. No fun if I can't "RC". :goodvibes

Making some baby steps :lmao: I have a ressier at POP (that I know I'm not using ... have to call to see if I can even move it to my earlier dates ... if not, trying to decide if I should go with the FD or book room only discount or if the Disney powers to be EVER decide to release AP rates I might snag one of those. I am considering either FQ, CSR, and maybe AKL. At least for now:goodvibes

I use a very DIS reputable Disney rewards site. I do the daily surveys and it really adds up. If you want I can PM you the link. I've been doing it since 08 for each trip I go on. :goodvibes

DD247 - can you PM me the link, please? Thks!

Thank you! Our last Disney trip was originally a SC trip to pick him up after his Parris Island graduation. We turned it into a Daytona Beach/WDW/Myrtle Beach trip instead. It was our last trip with ALL the kids! We had sooooo much fun! Last year we did a resort only stay, and he was working. This is our first US/WDW trip without our Eric, but it'll be fantastic nonetheless. We will celebrate for him:goodvibes

Absolutely! That's quite a reason to celebrate!

My whole RC family is invited:goodvibes, including kiddos of course:lovestruc

But of course we are coming ... pas130 we are already practically neighbors!!! (I'm live north of Philly!)

Oh boy... not me. :upsidedow I married at 35 and am childless...except for DH. But I am still a "champeen" RCer!

:rotfl2: ain't that the truth!

Well, I have to "change" things up a bit ... wasn't quite the young'un some of you were .... married at 25, had DS at 31, and DD at 38. Of course I felt young at the time!

Jeez Louise!

I had DS at 28 and youngest DS at 36! :scared1: (Which might explain why I'm so tired all the time ;))

I'll just say :wave2: to all the other RC'ers on here tonight. No multi -multi quoting for me! :rotfl2:

PM'ed you the link with some info on it. :)
I'd reallyyyyy love for some AP love. I'm getting tired of waiting for September rates.

:wave2:

I just had my second at 27

Mine too (and I would be happy to stay at ONE). For now I have to be content to ride the rails to each of them ... to visit :goodvibes

:rotfl: I was a long time rail-riding visitor myself.I just used to remind myself that ANY resort in Disney is better than a day at home.

So spent some time today on with DIS Guest Services. I've made friends with a nice CM there who probably cringes when I call...

...anyway, DNiece, her DH, and I are hellbent of changing to POR or POFQ. Nothing against CBR, but only one form of transportation at CBR (that being bus :scared1:) is proving too much of a drastic RC from our usual summertime haunts of Poly, BC & YC. POR is our favorite go-to winter resort so that seems a better fit for us this trip. We've all been there so many times we know :worship: Piano Bob's routine song-for-song and word-for-word. We feel comfortable there. Like home. :goodvibes

...so DIS Guest Services CM can get DNiece & her DH in to POR Aug 12-23 and 24-27...but NOT THE NIGHT OF 23rd. It is BOOKED SOLID. Same for us, 23rd is booked. Arrrrrgh. Be patient and POR magic will come...I hope. :)

Oh yeah, I was playing around with the "waffle" and did this for fun:
