Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Of course I'm going to need help! All I know is that it WILL be TPV next time we go :) as far as which resort, well that's entirely in the air. For now I say Poly or GF but I'm sure CR will be thrown into the mix. I could go for the trifecta and stay at all 3! ;) Now that would be  Just start at CR then move to Poly and lastly GF. I'll just make the monorail loop :rotfl:

It's hard deciding isn't it? That's why we have to do the CR and the Poly;).

COME ON TAG FAIRY, visit some RCers!!!!
cc99909d.gif

Love it!

Is the Tag Fairy carrying a plunger? I think she'd probably get a lot of use out of one here on the DIS:rolleyes1

Oh yeah, I was playing around with the "waffle" and did this for fun:

I see we found our Photoshopper?! I love how it looks like the Riddler of Mickey waffles and instead of a hidden Mickey it's sort of a hidden RC symbol:thumbsup2

You're more than welcome to join us! :goodvibes

Sounds good to me :thumbsup2

BTW love the new ticker

I just had my second at 27

Had my second at 26, perfect age!

:rotfl: I was a long time rail-riding visitor myself.I just used to remind myself that ANY resort in Disney is better than a day at home.

Loved riding the resort loop here too!

So spent some time today on with DIS Guest Services. I've made friends with a nice CM there who probably cringes when I call...

...anyway, DNiece, her DH, and I are hellbent of changing to POR or POFQ. Nothing against CBR, but only one form of transportation at CBR (that being bus :scared1:) is proving too much of a drastic RC from our usual summertime haunts of Poly, BC & YC. POR is our favorite go-to winter resort so that seems a better fit for us this trip. We've all been there so many times we know :worship: Piano Bob's routine song-for-song and word-for-word. We feel comfortable there. Like home. :goodvibes

...so DIS Guest Services CM can get DNiece & her DH in to POR Aug 12-23 and 24-27...but NOT THE NIGHT OF 23rd. It is BOOKED SOLID. Same for us, 23rd is booked. Arrrrrgh. Be patient and POR magic will come...I hope. :)

Sending you lots and lots of :wizard: that you are able to book the night of the 23rd.

What in the world is going on there?! Just curious, is this a busy time of year at WDW? I've never been in August, but would think it would be slow. Maybe not:confused3

Just curious....:rolleyes1....if you had to pick ONE...which would it be? Have yall stayed at the GF before? It's DD5s favorite....she says "it has the pretty red roof".

Moring' Heather! and all my fellow RCers! :goodvibes

August (particularly mid to late August) rates drop and Disney has offered "free diining" as an incentive to book (plus local schools are back in session offering slighter lower crowds in the parks).

Plus it's our kind of late summer treat before school begins here.

In answer to your other question ... POLY would be my first choice!

Makes sense...FD...people love it! Most GA schools are back in...wish we went back later! Even though it's hot at Disney in August, I would take less crowds any day!

Sending lots of pixiedust:your way !

Geesh, jush noticed the ears!! Looks great! :goodvibes

Making some baby steps :lmao: I have a ressier at POP (that I know I'm not using ... have to call to see if I can even move it to my earlier dates ... if not, trying to decide if I should go with the FD or book room only discount or if the Disney powers to be EVER decide to release AP rates I might snag one of those. I am considering either FQ, CSR, and maybe AKL. At least for now:goodvibes

Hey, 'we' :rotfl: forgot to mention the possibility of renting points from my friend!;) Or did you mean AKV? Guessing DVC resort options would be slim to none, but OKW has the beautiful refurb and 2 queen beds, which would be nice with the 2 adults and 2 kiddos. Nothing like throwing another option into the mix!!! Sorry!!

You're more than welcome to join us! :goodvibes

Perhaps I could hide in a suitcase? ;) ...and just think... Lily will be a toddler by then and oh, how much fun!! (I LOVE toddlers. taught pre school for 20+ yrs).

:wave2:

I just had my second at 27
Oh, you sweet young mama!! Bless your heart. You are doing it right - the younger we are when our babies come along, the more energy we have for a lifetime.:thumbsup2

Love it!

:rotfl2: A plunger!!! Love it!:rotfl2: I was thinking more in terms of a giant aspersorium, like for the use of holy water, only this one dispensing pixie dust. :teeth:

Geesh, I'll never look at another Mickey waffle smile the same again! That Riddler is creepy, but the smile is exactly the same!!

It's FRIDAY!!!!!:dance3:Sadly, I still don't have a reservation anywhere for anytime...how can I even contemplate a change?:sad2:

Yes, we figure its hot all summer long, why not go and save a few $$?

:offtopic: My mom, sis and I came down to Savannah in April and stayed in the historic district (on Bay Street). We loved your city! In a certain way it felt like Disney as I was structuring our touring days around where we were going to eat!!

Savannah: My FAVORITE city in the US and one of my fave in the world.

(as for the structuring where to eat around the touring day, you know how much that is like nails on a blackboard for me.:rotfl:)

Yeah, I covered it under "AKL" :) And, I would stay at OKW in a heartbeat. I thought it would be much to name everywhere I've been thinking to stay!

Can you make a ressie yet for next December? That you can started on changing it up!:)

Cannot make a ressie with points for our first choice of resorts until next MAY!!! And then no changing!!!

REALLY?? I thought you LIKED having everything planned out to the smallest littlest detail ...... :rotfl2:

Off to work Peeps!! Play time is over .... for now ... later!

Janet B wrote: REALLY?? I thought you LIKED having everything planned out to the smallest littlest detail ...... :rotfl2:

You are funny today!!! :rotfl2:

It's true, I am so NOT a detail planner for Disney trips. General plans ahead like which park to visit which day, but it is all up for change once we arrive. Of course some ADR's, but those are all subject to change as well. ;)

Actually, did we wind up doing anything the way we planned last year? Planning IS half the fun, but then going with the flow one there is fun too. ::yes::

WDWKOOK all resorts are subject to change up until check out date. ;)
I have never stayed at CR and would love to go for CL there.

sjs314 Isn't the new ticker shiny and pretty? lol
I actually felt old this time around! I have to give respect to all the ladies who do it at 35 and up. I don't think I'd be able to.

Minnie&Nana All my RC'ers are welcome to join us :grouphug: I didn't take DS until he was 3 and that's one of my biggest regrets. I can't wait to see her little face light up when she sees Mickey!

Now I'm off to send my books out to my "book club" and go grocery shopping :crazy2: then it's off to dinner and to see Cars 2 tonight!

My Guest Services CM said there are big blocks of rooms currently blocked out by the "money people" waiting on a final CONVENTION room tally. They should be unblocked about a month out. I sure hope so! Then, like Janet said, pair that with FD at end of month and the big Northeast pre-back-to-school push, AND one building being "down" due to reno, and you've got mayhem for a day.

BTW, we never do FD...still waiting for the plan that offers 1 TS per day and thats all. :rolleyes1.

Just curious....:rolleyes1....if you had to pick ONE...which would it be? Have yall stayed at the GF before? It's DD5s favorite....she says "it has the pretty red roof".
I've done GF once, Poly twice and CR once. I'm not sure I could decide. BUT I KNOW I WOULD NEVER TURN ONE DOWN!
CR CL MK was awesome, a classic and ohhh, that monorail. :thumbsup2
GF CL was a perfect stay for Mom's 65th Bday.
Love love love Poly. My only dislike about Poly is the Great Ceremonial house reminds me of Grand Central Station near O'Hana breakfast and dinner hours. It really stretches the laid back vibe Poly strives to create. So I just avoid the GCH at meal times unless I have Kona or O'Hana ressies, and all is well in my World. :goodvibes

Sounds like a nice problem to have... too many resort options! ;)

I wish your son all the best since that is what he wants to do, I admire him so much.
Carefull what you wish for, Just saying.......I always thought my oldest would make me a grandmother early and just like you cautioned about it even putting condoms in their xmas stockings one year............ I had him when I was just shy of my 17th birthday.
We here I am today 58 yrs young and not one grandbaby and time is running out :sad1:
I have 6 kids total. I am guaranteed at least one grandbaby....right:scared1:I am so happy (and nervous) for him:goodvibes
I was coming anyway :lmao:
:lmao:
pas130 ~ Congratulations to your son!! Nothing better for a mother than seeing her child happy. Takes a lot of courage to join the military, but I can tell you my dad joined at 17 and stayed for 27 years - so I grew up in a military family and it was quite an experience! Thank you to your DS and you for his desire to service.:goodvibes
Thank you!
I am very proud. My FIL is Retired Navy, and my Grandpa was Air Force. Both proudly served Wartime. Guess it's in his blood:)
You have done really well, mom:hug:. What a challenge it must have been for you to have DS at 16 - I can't imagine. You've raised a fine DS. Please tell Eric how proud I am of him. I know he doesn't know me from Adam, but I want him to know that he's done a great thing making a sacrifice like that. Only about one percent of the population serve in the US military. It's a noble, selfless and admirable act to serve. Does DS have his MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) yet?

I was 19 when I got married (had DD at 30) and DH retired as an Air Force officer 4 years ago. We have absolutely no regrets about serving and I think your DS will gain a lot. The benefits are great (we love DH's pension) and do I have to remind you that your DS is now eligible to purchase the discounted Armed Forces Salute tix (in unlimited quantities) and he can also book rooms for you at 40% off through 9/12!
I told him about the Disney Military discount. He smiled, he said he thought he was sick of Disney (thanks to me), but he can't wait to go back. I told him he has to get married there, and he said he's never getting married......we will see

But of course we are coming ... pas130 we are already practically neighbors!!! (I'm live north of Philly!!
And disneydreamin247 is right in Staten Island! We keep trying to plan a lunch date at Houlihan's....one day......

Can you picture their faces when we call:rotfl: I LOVE the question marks in the ears. I'm hungry for Mickey Waffles now:lmao:

I'm sure you'll get at least one grandbaby. We do need to meet up for lunch soon!

I managed to "obtain" some workout DVDs last night for free ;) so I'm hoping to start those either tonight or tomorrow, but most likely tomorrow since I'm already exhausted. I'm just hoping my knee can keep up with the workout. The knee I landed on when I got hit the first time shifts around inside the socket (yes it feels as gross as it sounds) and if I move the wrong way it hurts pretty badly. I'll just have to modify some of the moves if need be because I can't just NOT workout.

Since I don't have any updates on my trip, I just wanted to say that I am watching How I Met Your Mother and Disney World was mentioned! Ted asked his girlfriend, "So this is the Europe Germany?" and she said "Yes, what other Germany would it be?" and Ted asked, "The one in Epcot?" I grinned and squealed when he asked that. I am such a loser! :rotfl:
