@ sjs314.....and I thought I got up early!!!!??? You have me beat! Just like WDW....this is my favorite time of day. All 3 kids are still sleeping, DH is getting ready for work, and the house is as quiet as a mouse!

I hear ya! When not at Disney, I drink coffee in the morning from my Mickey Mug and read the DisBoards!....then the kids get up and it's time for gymnastics and karate!

Me too! I still enjoy my early morning "Me" time even though my kids are grown and out of the house.

Guess who has a slim chance of going to WDW in September! My friend said she will try to convince her parents to let me tag along for her birthday trip this September. She is staying at OKW (her parents own there) from the 14 - 20. I doubt they will let me, but it's worth a shot. I even checked flights for the dates my friend is going and I can fly for $200 round trip. They aren't non-stop flights, but they are $80 each way and I would much rather do that. I hope she lets me know if I can tag along or not because I want to book those flights now. lol I would love to go to MNSSHP and dress up as Alice. If they won't let me, we plan on going together some day. Maybe she can go with me if DBF doesn't want to go. Hmmmm. . .

Like the year we went to Vegas for my DS's wedding, I convinced DH since we would be so close to the west coast we should go to DisneyLand after Vegas, which he fell for hook, line and sinker.

I'm sure you pointed the money savings since you were really almost in DL anyway

Sorry you're working so much. I know what you mean about chunks of vacation funds going elsewhere. DS was up with a toothache last night so that means a pretty penny will be going to the dentist today.

I am looking forward to the resort changers meet. We have to pick a day, time and venue....yes a venue. I can image us just meeting in the middle of the street somewhere because we couldn't decide on a resort, with question marks on our tee shirts..... We need to come up with a Tee shirt or a button for our meet. Maybe a question mark.... Any suggestions????

Interesting, you've canceled AKL twice and not yet re-booked? Is the location/transportation holding you back? It was for me, so last August I booked just 3 nights of an 11 night visit when DH was deployed (he does not want to stay "way over there so far from everything"). We had a resort day, a water park day, and an AK day. It worked out well and we really enjoyed a few nights there. Ironically, there was a bus glitch coming back from the AK to AKL and it took about an hour. Normally, we always drive to AK, but I thought that since we were staying at AKL it would be easy peasy, well, it wasn't very easy or peasy...

Yikes ... hmmm, sure it wasn't one of the safari buses ??... those poachers can be hard to find ...

Thanks everyone! DS is fine. His tooth hasn't hurt since I gave him that Advil so I just sent him to school today.

I don't know why but I can't seem to stop eating. I know I need to lose weight for this trip but nursing Lily is making me SO hungry! I hate to walk around my neighborhood since getting run down 2 years ago so I'm limited as far as exercise so I decided to start using my Wii Fit again. I did really well with the stepping program on it and you don't need much room at all for it (our house is super small). I bought the lift for the balance board that will make it higher and make it a more intense workout and hopefully this will help me drop some pounds. I did really well with it before my last 2 trips so I'm hoping with the ramped up workout I'll do even better.

Has anyone used toning sneakers? I was thinking of buying myself a pair. The Skechers are cheap enough that even if they don't really tone me up they're still a cute shoe for working out so I may just invest in a pair. If I like them they make it to my packing list for September.

DON"T LET IT GO!!!! You can make an ADR for 2 a lot easier than you can for 3! Just keep the ADR, show up a little early for it, say 15 minutes, and then let them know the ressie would have been for 3 not 2. With the reservation system in chaos anyway, a lot of folks are booking for the wrong party size. I've had to do it a time or two when I've made an "oopsie"

I haven't booked the cabana yet, but hopefully will tomorrow. I have to remember to do it!

My mom lived in Spring Lake and graduated NHS also. I miss all of those good NJ food specialties. Oh my gosh... Kohr's. Memories. Worked at Kohr's at Seaside Heights Boardwalk back in HS. TR added a HS East. I was the first full 4-year graduating class.

An hour!!? Good grief!.... Your DH sounds like me! I love the resort, but every time I think about having to travel only by bus, I start rethinking...AND rebooking We will eventually do a short trip there. Most of the places we like to dine are centered around MK resorts, though.

We finally got smart and asked them to bring out our meat rare....then it was perfect...not shoeleather I'm sure we will probably go back once again even though the service was the worst we've had in several trips!

I agree Heather. This CBR thing has me a bit ooogie especially with the bus situation. But I have to keep reminding myself it is for a good cause that we made the change. Dniece and her DH and I were scheming last night to at least change to one of the POs for the boat transportation if we must do mod. It has been so many years since we've done a mod in summer on a longer trip. We thought CBR for a change since we've done POR many times but boy are we regretting the decision.

Thanks for the "rare" idea. DNH actually tried that last year with the beef, and it never came... But this time we'll try it with all the meats, even chicken(!!), and it should all come out perfectly cooked.

YES!! I think a button too, that way we can wear it any day. Maybe all of the resort names around the mickey head and a big question mark in the middle....???? Just a thought. Not sure what color. Can't wait to see your designs.

Oh my gosh the weather is terrible! Last night at work we had to basically shut down the store and lock it up because there was a tornado warning. The wind was really blowing and there was a ton of rain. We had to bring everyone, including customers, to the back of the store where we sit for tornado warnings. The skies are really dark right now and the rain has been on and off today, but it looks like another storm is coming. I may have to call into work if the weather is so bad that I can't drive in it. I'm not risking my life to go to work. I refuse to drive in stormy weather. Especially when it is pouring and having the wipers on the fastest setting doesn't do much.

I'm an early bird too, 0500, even when school is out so I can shower, take a look at the DIS, make DH's breakfast, go to the gym and be back before DD even awakens. I love my Mickey mug, too, but feel sort of down on the days he's in the dishwasher. I should get another one. Maybe a cool 40th anniversary retro one

I wish! Wouldn't it be a hoot being on that for an hour? They must have had bus problems that afternoon because the line was ginormous for AKL, but not for any other resort. It took so long for a bus to arrive and then it was full in no time and this was in the afternoon on a weekday in August. They must have had a breakdown - I know I almost did

There isn't a warning right now. The weather is just so unpredictable. It looks like it could rain any second now. The wind hasn't picked up, but it's super cloudy. I bet it will start to rain once I get to work. That's what usually happens. It happened yesterday. I had to whip out my penguin umbrella as soon as I got out of my car because it started raining. I feel bad for the person who left their trunk open because it started pouring. Some of the lights are out so there are police directing traffic. I have to leave an extra 10 - 15 minutes before I start work to make sure I get to work on time because the light I have to turn at to get to Target is out. I hate Chicago weather.
