Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I switched for the 4th time to BWV with a helpful CM! The walk to Epcot and DHS, and my small pay raise that I just found out about, finally got me to call! :tigger:

Good for you! :goodvibes

Stay where you haven't stayed before. That's what I always recommend because that's what I do! The main 2 reasons I go to Disney are for the resorts and the food!

::yes:: But I also like to stay somewhere that I know I'll like at the end of a split stay so I have my comfort factor. :)

Well take my family and I for example. Before August 2010 we had so many previous Club Level stays at the Contemporary, so when we decided to try staying Club Level at the Boardwalk Inn and their Deluxe Room we weren't sure how it would compare with the Contemporary. Well as you know from my August 2010 trip report we enjoyed it a lot more then we thought and we liked it so much to stay there our whole time in December 2010 and are only staying there in August 2011. Now I realize the difference is we previous stayed at the Contemporary before switching to the Boardwalk Inn, where as you want to stay somewhere brand new for your whole trip and what if it doesn't compare to the Wilderness Lodge? However we still tried something new and who knows what would have happened if we didn't.

Good advice. :goodvibes

Thanks for the inspiration:). I think I should make the change from WL/CL to BC/Deluxe. I might actually prefer it and I won't know unless I try it.

:thumbsup2 You might actually like it. :goodvibes

Now, why'd you have to go and say so concisely just what I've been thinking:worship:. You summed-up pretty much why I'm reluctant to change to BC/Deluxe for the last 8 days of our split stay. It's not a known entity and for $600 more, I don't want to be more disappointed than I might be at WL with its smaller room and worse transportation. For $600 less, the WL/CL is a known entity so I already know what will disappoint me:laughing:. Wow, this thread is therapeutic:grouphug:

You're welcome and I am sure you will have a great time no matter what.

Also I was wondering did you ever consider staying in a Deluxe Room at the Boardwalk Inn?

I just wanted to say I miss you all! We're going home tomorrow. I can't wait to catch up on everything! I'm proud to report I haven't thought of one change so far!

Miss you too! Enjoy the rest of your babycation;)Congrats to Big brother as well. We'll have you back to changing soon enough:rotfl:

WDWKookThis thread IS very theraputic, isn't it? Did you change yet? Or are you now looking at BWI Deluxe (thanks to CR Fan)?

There should be a date changers thread! Now that I have my heart set on BWV, I would save over $2k if I went in August instead! :scared1: :rotfl2:

Speaking of changing......................For my May 2012 trip, I am seeking advice, insight.....So I booked Poly 2 Bedroom Princess Suite, would 2 rooms at Hawaii Theme Park View be better? It will be me, DH, our gang will be 10, 7, 5,4, and 3 when we go. I've never stayed at Poly before, and I'm thinking location. Tonga supposedly has limited CL compared to Hawaii, but Tonga is closer to GCH. And connecting rooms with my little ones might be asking for trouble. For those that have stayed at the Poly, what do you think? My gut tells me to stay put, but.......the voices.

I just got off the phone with the sweetest CM. His name was Kirby and he was so sweet and extremely helpful. He checked for me if there was any room for the Contemporary and he said that there was only the 1 Bedroom Suite. I told him that I couldn't afford it and that every time I called there was no room available so it was good to hear that some people are starting to cancel. He then was wondering how many days it was til my vacation and I told him about 60 days. He told me that people start cancelling just before the 45 day mark because they can cancel without a penalty and to check in around 50 days. I totally forgot about the 45 day mark! I was thanking him so much for the tip and he seemed to be happy that he helped me out. I will have to call back in about 10 days to see if anyone cancels. I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!

That's so funny, I think I've talked to him before. He told me he had a list of 3 must stay places. 1)AKL- Savannah -yup did that
2)CR TPV
3)Polynesian (his favorite)
I called him when I upgraded to GF-Main Building TPV and he said he was going to make it non-cancellable since it is such an awesome room (we joked about all my changes). Fingers crossed for a CR room for you

His 2nd choice is the one I want, but I will settle for Bay Lake view as well. As long as I'm in one of the towers. It will be hard for me to decide which one I would want to stay at if I had both choices.

He sounds like such a fun guy! I think I may have talked to him once before, but I'm not sure. I hope I talk to him again. He was such a sweetie! And thanks! I really really want a CR room, but I will still be ok with BWI.

Tonga does have limited CL but you use the lounge at the Hawaii longhouse. :) But I have yet to hear of people who requested connecting rooms at Poly and didn't get them, and have been next to people with two rooms twice at the Poly. Once in Tokelau and once in Hawaii.

Tonga and Hawaii both have great locations, with Hawaii further from the GCH but closer to the TTC and Tonga closer to GCH - and the monorail - but further from the TTC. And by further I mean just maybe two minutes.

So I'd ignore the voices - the Princess suite also has a Castle view - so it would really come down to money in the end. Unless two rooms is a LOT cheaper than the suite - I'd ignore the voices. :goodvibes

kaffinito Rack rate pricewise there isn't much difference between 2 rooms CL TPV and the 2 Bedroom Suite. And this is a gift from DH-"go all out he said" to make up for taking away Disney Days this Summer for Universal. Maybe the voices are from change "withdrawal" I need to stay put, we may not get a chance to afford a trip like this for a long time. And I am SO glad everything worked out for your reservation.

Thank you - it's all your fault I booked the Poly to begin with. ;) Heck I was even looking at the Honeymoon suites - for the king bed and the jacuzzi until I cam e to my senses. :teeth:

I'm still jealous though - the Princess Suite does look quite lovely, you do get CL in the Hawaii building, and it's a great location with a Castle view.

(Plus, you can take lots of pics of the room and the view and then post them back here, right? :goodvibes)

:rotfl:Well its disneydreamin247's fault I started thinking about the Poly again. I booked my first trip in 2000, then switched to All Stars because my DH freaked when he saw how much$$$ I spent (early days as a switcher I suppose) It was the original room I booked for this August too:confused3 I will TOTALLY take lots of pics, no worries. Can't wait to hear about the Cabanas from your trip:cloud9:

I changed our 8 nights WL/CL to a BC Deluxe room! I told DH after the fact and he's excited about the prospect of being in a larger room in the Epcot resort area. I was worried he'd miss his Lodge, but so far, he's happy with the change. He kept telling me to do whatever I wanted, so I wasn't sure how he'd actually feel if I changed it. Phew.

I just noticed that I changed this reservation 2 months to the day after making it. I bet some of you haven't gone that long without changing:laughing:.

So you can blame disneydreamin247, and I can blame you and WDWKOOK, and someone will come along who will blame me? :rotfl2:

You will get a full report on the cabanas. :goodvibes

2 months is a long time to go without switching! :) Congrats on the switch - I'm sure you'll like it! :goodvibes (But why not give BWI deluxe a try? ;))
