Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

GF is gorgeous and their CL is :cloud9:

IMO that's not switchable!

This is it! And we're not very good at recovery :rotfl2:

It's not switchable now that the little princess has made her decision:rotfl2:
Thanks for the great GF review

Hey fellow Changers that have Android phones - there is an app called WDW Resort calculator lite. It's a free app that let's you look up information (Mostly innacurate ;) about resorts you are thinking of, and includes a cost calculator (also inaccurate) But it is a fun app when you can't DIS for some reason. :)

Well here's our story. It's DS who will be 7, DD who will be around 7 months, and myself. If it's just us we can upgrade no problemo. Right now we're booked at the Poly. We are definitely staying on the monorail since I have the 2 kids and no one to help with the stroller and other child nonsense you have to lug around with you when traveling with kids.

However, my mom may be coming, or both of my parents. If it's just my mom she's welcome to join us in our room. If BOTH of them come there's no way we're all rooming together unless we upgrade to CL to give us some extra space. My parents are on a tighter budget than I am. I was going to give them some money towards their trip. So basically I need to know who is or isn't coming so I can proceed to flip flop on resorts until my heart's content without worrying about bothering other people on my reservation. :rotfl: Maybe them coming is the kind of rehab I need!

Oh now I get it! So if they come then you can't switch? But.... you could switch ... to GF SL, right? If they come? But if they don't come, then you can still switch though, right? :thumbsup2

And I totally get the part about two kids and the strollers - a monorail is key to happiness in that case. Heck, it the key to happiness IMO even with teenagers. :teeth:

cannot decide which resort to choose? keep changing my mind between the values and the mods.

I'm in the same boat. Except that I'm swinging back and forth between POP, POR, and AKL (as of today). I'm most probably going to go for POR though - pool slide, quiet pools, and a jacuzzi kind of trumps POP's food court and tie die cake.

But then again AKL has that lovely pool area and Zebra Domes. :cloud9: So....

Anyway, let us know which way you're heading in, and we can enable you to get there! :)

It's not switchable now that the little princess has made her decision:rotfl2:

You're welcome! I do hate the decor there, but absolutely loved CL. I would do that again (with a discount, natch) in a heartbeat. They have a smoked salmon herbed cream cheese spread for the breakfast bagels that absolutely rocked! And the staff and the other little goodies - well, let's just say that I spent more time in that lounge than I have on any of my previous CL stays put together. :cloud9:

I'm allowed to switch my heart's content until they are for sure coming. Then I'm stuck. If my mom comes by herself I've talked DS into a split stay 5 nights Poly, 4 nights GF SL. You know, switching was a lot easier when he was 4 and could care less where he was going. Now that he's a pro I might have to start leaving him home so I can continue to switch :rotfl: He thinks he's the boss!

No switching! :scared1: I feel for you there! I've been changing my mind on average of 9 to 10 times a day - which is why I haven't booked yet. I swear if I run one more "price check" on disneyworld.com my laptop is going to explode. :rolleyes1

I know what you mean about your DS. My 10 year old likes POP and BWI, and my oldest is stuck on GF RPC. I knew I shouldn't have taken him there for his birthday!

My kids won't let me switch either. Once I say where we're going to stay they watch me like hawks for signs of switching. Including checking to see if I'm on the phone to CRO. :headache: Darn kids....

:lmao: My DS loves Pop too! When I showed him Poly he said "but when are we staying at Pop Century again?" Say what?! Of course now he's all Poly or bust. I can't believe I actually got him to compromise on a split stay. He's usually very headstrong when he's set on something. I have NO idea where he gets that from. :rolleyes1

Hey! I just noticed your siggy - my oldest is ADHD and ASD and my youngest is ADD and ASD! :rotfl: That's probably why they don't want us to change, eh? :thumbsup2

Too funny about POP - my youngest thinks that every Spring Break we need to stay at POP since that's where the members of Herman's Hermits stays. :confused3 I'm trying to train him to the Poly instead. ;)

That's probably EXACTLY what it is. He doesn't transition well. He clearly got the wrong mom :lmao: We've been having a huge increase in mega meltdown lately and I'm a little afraid of how other may react to him should he have one in the lounge. I'm sure you know as well as anyone that when your child doesn't look disabled people are less than forgiving when they have a "moment" in public.

Oh I know that one well!

Oh! And congratulations on your new little one! You must be so excited! :goodvibes

UHHHHHHHHHH  Why can't I decide? Now I'm thinking of switching to POFQ or WL! :headache:

:rotfl2:

My DD6 is ADD/no hyperactive but you wouldn't know it at home. Listening to you ladies, this sounds like the common demonator with their unwillingness to change resorts. And those public meltdowns, YIKES. Plus she had to get glasses this year, and in April she might have to start patching her eye for astigmatism (did I spell that right). So I kinda feed into her whims. She really is a strong girl, and a good girl when it comes down to it.

This is why I love the DIS! Not only do you all share my obsession with the Mouse, but there's also others who can relate to other struggles in life. We need to be seen by the doctor and reevaluated again. I think DS needs to be put on medication because his temper and his anger are really spiraling out of control and I'm concerned for him. I can't imagine being so little and my brain making me feel that way. It must be torture for him. Unfortunately, they can't get me in until NOVEMBER 30TH!!! :scared1:

My DD was on a waiting list for an appt for 7 months (she was recently diagnosed) it's ridiculous! My DH was ADHD and he is dead set against meds. She goes for follow up August (right before our trip). The anger thing must be so hard, sometimes I try to get her to relax and she says "I want to but I can't help it" Poor babies...HUGS.

My DH just texted my cell phone and said "Get off the computer, the trip will be fine" How did he know I was bouncing between the Disney website and the DIS:lmao:

He knows you too well! :rotfl:

DS' "dad" is ADD but could care less what happens to DS. He hasn't seen him in 2 years. Not that I'm complaining. DS is MUCH better off without him.

I hear you on that one. The most important thing for your DS is a stable, loving family...and that doesn't need to include the "birth father". My DB is autistic and our "birth father" hasn't seen him in 30 years, trust me he is soooo much better off. Every time he got involved it would set my brother back emotionally. Sounds like your babies are well taken care of by their Mommy:thumbsup2

Yup, I know that story very well. And AWWW! You know, it doesn't take very much to make me cry these days!
