Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I think the default is white, but I don't mind being surprised. ;) And of course I will take pictures!

This is what it's going to look like: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=37506917&postcount=229

How cute is that? And it's going to say, "Thank You Gramma".

And I so embarrassed myself on the phone. I totally forgot my reservation number. :rotfl: I was at work when they called me back so I wasn't at home to look it up. I hadn't called in like a week so I totally forgot, but I did end up remembering it. :lmao:

You will have lots of fun at the Poly. It looks really neat, but I don't know if I'd wanna stay there. There are other resorts I wanna stay at first.

And I know I will have a lovely day today! My boyfriend is working right now and he is at a house that's on the street next to my house so he's gonna come over right after that since he has no other jobs to do for the day. :lovestruc

I love that cake so much I want to order one for myself

I know she will too! It's small and perfect for the two of us. :) I loved the big cakes, but we don't need a big cake.
The cake is so cute and that white chocolate castle is beautiful. That is the perfect size for the two of you - she will love it. Now, you've planted the dessert seed in my head:idea:. Our arrival night at the CR we're eating at CA Grill and a little cake might be nice:scratchin

pas130: Are you celebrating anything special during your WDW trip?

I'm glad everyone likes the cake! When I get back from my trip, I will let you know how awesome it is and convince you to get it. It's costing me $30. It's a little pricey for being so small, but the castle is pretty intricate. I'm not gonna complain though. It's worth it. :)

So Spring Break is over. And DS 10 and DD 6 are back to school. I love them but it's nice to have our routine back. OK Multiquote Mania Morning:rotfl:

disneydreamin247 Good morning Momma! DS seeing your sis with wings gave me chills:hug: My DB is autistic, when my Gramma passed, he called home and said "Mama angel". Out of the mouth of babes.

DS went upstate with my dad for 2 days and missed school today. I didn't mind because I was SO grateful for some peace and quiet! lol His mouth just never ever stops.

I guess he takes after me when it comes to having a 6th sense. I have always had premonitions and such. When I was very young there was a missing little girl in my area. My mom said around the time she went missing I developed an imaginary friend with her name and after they found her body I never spoke of my friend again. My mom always takes things I say very seriously because of a few instances like that.

Ha! I never even got around to doing DS10's. :rotfl: You're better than I am! :)
:rotfl: I say you have until 2 months to do them! It's SO hectic when they're born. Birth announcements were absolutely last on my to do list.

I'm happy to hear that people are already impatiently waiting for my return when I haven't even left yet. :rotfl:

And I'm glad everyone likes the cake idea. I'm going to call them right now so I can get it done with. I just haven't decided if I wanted to put, "Happy Mother's Day Gramma" or "Thank you Gramma". I'm leaning toward the latter.

I think Thank You Gramma is great!!!

Cabana at the Poly sounds lovely, who cares if it's for 3-makes it all the more luxurious:lovestruc

:hug:I should mention that I was trying to squeeze in another trip for the holidays. A mini vaca to see the decorations.....but it can wait til 2012 I'm sure....

By the end of the day, I couldn't do it. This may be my only opportunity to afford a GF suite (after October we are 7-DS turns 3) And I have kept it a surprise this long......

If you switched from GF I was going to have to give you a stern talking to! :rotfl: You just can't switch.

I know she will too! It's small and perfect for the two of us. :) I loved the big cakes, but we don't need a big cake.

I hate to admit this, but I ordered a HUGE Mickey cake for DS and myself 2 years ago. I think I only ended up throwing out a tiny piece. :sad2:

I love that cake so much I want to order one for myself

I say get a cake! I love ordering cakes. I'm going to order one for our first night also!

I say get a cake! I love ordering cakes. I'm going to order one for our first night also!

That settles it. If everyone is ordering a cake for their first night then off to the cake thread I go:tiptoe:. That is where I need to start out, right?

Am I the only one who thinks a $2,000 savings is worthy of consideration?

Yep. If it means giving up a luxury suite or CL, then yep. You are the only one. :teeth:

When I called the cake hotline about the cake, I forgot to tell them what kind of cake. :rotfl: I will call back tomorrow and see if I can find out. I just want a white cake with white buttercream filling. I would much rather have chocolate, but I rather play it safe for my gramma. lol

Sounds delicious!

GF is unbelievable! I cried when I first walked in the lobby! Stay with GF...unless you really need that $2,000. But I know the feeling. I want to switch to BLT for no reason. It would be about $100 more. :upsidedow

Which isn't a savings, but is very understandable. BLT is in a good location. :rolleyes1

BTW I cried when we got upgraded to the AKL suite last year. Yep coffee in hand, looking at the giraffes and zebras, crying. My kids asked DH why I was crying, and he said "Mommy is a Princess, and doesn't ever want to leave her castle":cloud9: I think that's how I'm gonna feel at GF. And the kids really like the pictures, and keep asking when can we stay there......I am staying away from the phone.....Really I am:surfweb:

 That is so darned cute! And I hope you find the GF just as magical. :goodvibes

That settles it. If everyone is ordering a cake for their first night then off to the cake thread I go:tiptoe:. That is where I need to start out, right?

Oh no... I can see it coming. Soon we'll have to have a "cake switchers" thread :rotfl:

I did order a cake for DS18's birthday last year. It was a red velvet Xbox theme. I wouldn't mind ordering one for his birthday this year. Maybe I could get a Zebra Dome cake?

BTW, is it wrong to stay somewhere just for the desserts in the food court?

Now wait just a darned minute. When did you add the CR Tower? I thought it was WL CL and something else to begin with? :confused3

Oh no! What have I started? :rotfl:

I think we have a spinoff.....cake switchers. Love it!:rotfl: You can never have too much cake. JMHO

kaffinito I have a feeling that's exactly how I will feel at the GF:love: And you can stay ANYWHERE for ANY REASON. It's all good!

disneydreamin247 Piece and quiet.Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. My DS 10 and DD 6 make more ruckus than the 3 little ones. So I hear ya!

WDWKOOK We actually are celebrating DD 7th Birthday, and DD going to kindergarten. It's my birthday too, but the Princess said I already celebrated my birthday last year at Disney. And to be honest, I'd like to avoid the Princess meltdown at all costs. She is so obsessive, I had to make sure it was ok to celebrate since her actual birthday is after we come home. :scared1: We were talking last night, and she was very excited about the idea, she asked if Mickey would send her a birthday card like I got. I think Mickey might send cake:thumbsup2 She was the one who originally picked out GF, I wouldn't have looked into it if not for her. She's OK with Pop, but said one day we have to stay in the castle(that's what she calls GF). I should order 2 cakes, one for each celebration, right?

I still haven't called to adjust my dates and I was just looking at the thread of pictures of BLT. Now I really don't know what to do. :rolleyes2 Oh bother, I'll stay BLT next time. Wait no, I'm staying at OKW next time. :crazy2:

You are NOT alone. We did say $2,000 and not $200 right? When the savings is in the thousands (with a "s") it is always worth considering options......I would treat myself to some sort of excursion like wishes dessert party or AKL sunset or something and stay at WL Deluxe in a heartbeat.

I keep thinking that you may need the $2,000 to fill up your gas tank for a week.

I like, I like....:yay:

I will be making a decision some time next week. It is driving me crazy that I have NO ADR's

Not the only one anymore:scratchin

I loved the myriad meal options at AKL, but, I just don't like the location of the resort. Can you do a Zebra Dome retrieval pop-in?

Now wait just a darned minute. When did you add the CR Tower? I thought it was WL CL and something else to begin with? :confused3
:rotfl:
Silly girl, that is soooo January:snooty:

~January was AKL/CL & WL/CL

~March was CR (a Tower room opened-up:goodvibes) & BC/Deluxe

~April was CR & YC/CL

~Easter was (is) CR & Poly/CL:faint:

YES! One can NEVER have too much cake:thumbsup2 Well, maybe, but there's always tomorrow:cake:

You should order two separate cakes for both yours and DD's birthdays. The Princess really needs her own cake and the least you can do for yourself is get one for your birthday, too. Also, then it distinguishes her special day from yours which may make her feel extra special.

I'm sure you've already done this, but make sure the GF/IPO knows about your celebrations and that DD would love a card from Mickey.

Yeah, I'm not alone:worship:.

I paid almost $4.50/gal. for premium the other day, so the $2,000 road trip isn't that far-fetched:sad2:.

:thumbsup2

I will be making a decision some time next week. It is driving me crazy that I have NO ADR's

I procrastinate with ADR's. I just started making them for August. :) It's more difficult to find a table for three than for two or four for some reason? :confused3

Well, I was wondering what I had missed with the resorts... :upsidedow It's easy to get a little mixed up... :goodvibes

As far as Zebra Dome retrieval - yes it can be done! But they have to stay cold to be yummy so it's best to eat the package as soon as you buy them, and then get another package or two to take with you. :cool1:

Which is probably why I always gain a lot of weight whenever I'm anywhere near AKL... :rolleyes1

That was too funny! :lmao:

I agree. Cake can never be too plentiful. I was thinking of possibly, maybe, perhaps doing 2 cakes since my dad's birthday is 2 weeks after our trip.

stepdisney Gas prices are insane. I drive a Suburban too:scared1: If any more discounts come out I MAY switch to 2 rooms CL, but I really want GF!

WDWKOOK Wasn't even gonna acknowledge my birthday, I HATE my birthday (like my RC sister disneydreamin247). Plus I got to pick the resort right? But it is an excuse for cake:thumbsup2 You know.....my anniversary is August 11;)

kaffinito I HAVE to plug your TR. It was great:goodvibes AND I got my 2nd Vacation Planning DVD today....enjoying it now with the kids:lovestruc

:rotfl: I wish I could find some king of excuse to do that too! :rotfl2:

But I'm stuck with one cake - maybe. Better make it a good one! :goodvibes

Thanks! I enjoyed writing it too. :goodvibes

My next project is the DHDH/DHDW thread. I got permission to launch it on the Theme Parks Community Board. Hope it floats! :cool1:

I still might switch over to GF. ;) The CL there was sooo good, and the resort is so lovely (Despite the Laura Ashley barf-style decor ;))

But - I really didn't like the bus service there at all. The bus service at AKL is so much better. :)

When the Grand Floridian shares bus service with the Contemporary and Polynesian they are always the 3rd stop where you are picked up/dropped off, so that's part of the reason it can be bad at times.

And that's where I had the problem. ;) Granted I only stayed there once, but it took way too long for buses coming or going.

I'd rather stay at AKL since they only share with Kidani than stay at GF where they share a bus with CR and Poly too. :)
