Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Jetblue has an airfare sale from NYC today. It's only $164! I guess this means I'm supposed to book it. I'm just afraid that if I do something is going to go wrong or fall through.

I don't have the motivation to call everyday either. I usually just check online or if I'm bored at work I'll call and check but some of those CMs can be harsh!

The weather is actually mild here today so we may go for a walk or to the mall to see the bunny. I have anxiety about walking in my neighborhood since I got hit by the car 2 years ago so when I go walking I'll only stay on my side of the main road because I'm absolutely terrified to cross it again.

That is a good price but I know what you mean. I was just on JB site contemplateing changeing our return flight home to the later flight which has dropped from $161 to $84 , only thing how much do they charge to change flights, I know when I had to cancel last year it was $100 for each person I had to cancel we lost $400 :sad2:

OMG, that is horrible, Dani. I don't blame you for not wanting to walk there. Definitely go to the mall instead. Were your injuries serious?

We'd all LOVE to see a photo of Lily and the Easter Bunny. And, pas130, we'd love a photo of your little ones with the furry long-eared guy, too.

They charge the same ghastly $100/pp to change. I hate airline fees! JB and Virgin America are the only ones I'll fly though because I don't feel like I'm being nickel and dimed to death.

I have 3 herniated discs in my lower back, a displaced knee cap that shifts when I walk (so gross!), and a ton of back pain all the time. I think the worst injury is the anxiety it left me with.

I will definitely share a picture of Lily with Mister Bunny and I'd LOVE to see one of pas130's gorgeous kiddos as well! For now here's one of Lily in a way too big Easter dress that Grandma had to hold together in the back so I could get a picture.

That is what I was afraid of so I guess we will keep our original flights.

Ouch. I can understand having anxiety after such an accident. My Ddil is from NY(Bronx) and I swear she is hell on wheels when she drives, scares me to death. Coming back once from the City she was whipping in and out of traffic like a race car driver, I thought I was gonna die and she is calm as a cucumber saying you get use to driving like this if you live in Ny.

Lily is so adorable, you are so very lucky Dani

We actually start driving exactly three months from today. We'll spend a night in GA and then on to Boca Raton to visit my FIL for a couple of nights. It's then only a 3.5 hour drive to WDW from there. We always leave early so that we can get there before noon, check-in and have lunch at CHH at the MK. I just love sitting on the second floor overlooking FL.

We usually go more toward the middle of August, but we wanted to get one more use out of our APs before they expire. With the 22 nights DD & I did last year and the upcoming 12 nights, we will have gotten 34 park days out of those APs! That breaks down to about $14 a day:thumbsup2
I was surprised that the new AP rates expire the same day as the current general public room only discount and Canadian resident discount. I actually thought they would have wanted to at least have them during the whole month of August.

Good afternoon fellow RCs:goodvibes

disneydreamin247 It is a nice day! I'm not one for walks either. But we got to play in the yard this morning and jump on the trampoline. Lily is just beautiful, and you really can't tell that dress is too big at all:) I am sooo not ready for Easter. I'm actually going to Target tomorrow for dresses(Hi Hannah! My MIL is Hanna-no H at the end and she works at Target too-YAY family discount), I hope their shoes fit from last year:eek: And then I have to sneak out for basket fillers:eek:. I am so behind. Somewhere inbetween DD needs her glasses tightened. And I don't think a bunny pic will happen this year:confused3 It's all good. As long as we make it to church (I am working til 3am on Saturday night, and I have to be to work 3p Sunday) Enjoy your extra time home on leave. It flies by doesn't it?

WDWKOOK Yep I worked last night. I was supposed to get out at midnight. But I was helping with a really sick patient, so I made it home at 230am:surfweb: Now I am going to nap with the munchkins, I have to be back at work at 7pm. I DID exercise this morning.:) I am proud you stuck with YC/CL BTW....I don't always think when it comes to $$$

Here's a pic after bathtime yesterday. It's one of the few with all the kids together. So I took advantage....:woohoo:Sorry it's not the best quality, it's from my cell

Kaffinito: Christine (Minnie&Nana) told me on the WL thread that she was the one who actually came up with the idea for this thread and named it, too! This was news to me and I invited her to come over here and offer us moral support. I hope we haven't scared her away (or anyone else for that matter:flower3:).

Hmmmm. I named this thread. Maybe another group of changers? I am sure that in the history of the DIS, there have been similar threads. No sense re-inventing the wheel. All I can tell you regarding this thread is that we have been changing resorts together since 2007 or so. I continued the thread started by Disneybride and we started it because of one of the greatest resort changers to date, Ktink (Karen) If you're out there Ktink, please grace us with your resort changing presence. :goodvibes There may have been another group but I can assure you that we always referred to our changes as "resort". No worries though, everyone is welcome here. We all have the same symptoms.... Changeritis has no boundaries.

I have a dream that one day all changers, resort, ADR, itinerary, etc, will join together on one thread and join hands in singing, Cha-Cha-Cha changes......:lmao:

Well, I was slightly, but not entirely confused and ever-so patient Christine corrected me today on the WL thread. There was another group of "Changers:"

Oh, no, I did not start the thread - just came up with the "resort" in changers title when we were all joking about making so many changes and tossing around tags - no idea who actually began the (un)official thread - I was too embarrassed to hang around for long. I did have "member of the official resort changers" in my tag for a short time, but some DIS "friends" began making rude comments so I slithered away. No more though!! For guests like us I truly don't think it is possible to choose a resort and never make a change - even for a last minute trip. Heck, the first stay at POP I wanted to make a resort change at check-in!!!

This was her original post that had me slightly confused:

This was prior to the actual unofficial thread. Yep, been around the block a number of times...every resort for 30 years and more trips that I can keep track of now. Well, not every resort - unlike Karen, I've no desire to try an AS resort. The rest we've tried - oh, not YC yet, but every time I book it, I back out. Blame Disney for a great code or AP rate that gets me back over to GF or Poly again.

I hope that clears-up what I was trying to say to Karen.

I am sure she means another group of changers. I keep hoping that the tag fairy comes over and grants us ALL resort changer tags. Karen has a great tag. It is our mantra.... :lmao: Invite Minnie & Nana over to the thread. We need Nana!!! :goodvibes (one thing I love about this thread is that everyone is welcome (and crazy) :upsidedow

I can tell she has grown in her face since her Princess bathtub photo. She looks so cute in that dress, Dani! Mine was almost 2 months premature and I so wanted a photo of her in a dress, but we were stationed in Korea and the PX didn't have preemie sizes, so the dress was way too big for her and she looked like she had no arms in the photo. And, I remember feeling upset that she wouldn't open her eyes for the photo and I even tried to wake her up:upsidedow.

You really had a terrible accident. I remember many years ago Steven King, the author, was hit by a car walking down his road and it took him years to recover. I'm going to assume you avoid all roller coasters because of your back injuries?

I was surprised that the new AP rates expire the same day as the current general public room only discount and Canadian resident discount. I actually thought they would have wanted to at least have them during the whole month of August.

Well, the FD starts up when the AP & GP discounts end and the military room-only discount has already been extended until 9-12 (it was due to expire 9/11), but the black-out dates have yet to be announced.

Oh, I read something very interesting. I know you usually book a bounceback and you usually go in December, too. Did you know that you can book a rack rate room now for December and when you check-in to BWI in August you can call and apply the bounceback offer to that room? I'm thinking of doing this for December, but I'm waiting on the black-out dates for the mil. discount first.

pas130, your kids are adorable and they look so close in age, like the Duggars! They look like they get along well and have lots of fun together, too. Love the Buzz Lightyear PJ Pals!

I can't imagine working your schedule and dealing with so many different health issues that come into the hospital. You're just amazing and you even exercised today. Keep up the great consistency:thumbsup2

Well, on the WL I did tell her to join us, but I'm going to remind her on Karen's thread, too;)

Hi, everyone! Made my way over here! I am sorry about the confusion - which was caused by my choice of words - did not mean to imply that I started the thread, but it did sound that way...only meant I was a part of the very original group a few and /or several years ago, but my ONLY contribution was the word "resort" - and being an original official resort changer, of course. Also, one of DIS administrators changed my Dis name a few/several years ago due to a security issue, so I may have been recognized under the previous name.

Please forgive my brain moving faster than I can type - heck, and I'm old, does that count for anything?! ;)

Let me try to catch up a bit with the thread...although unfortunately, no trip planned anytime in the near future...so will have to live vicariously through all of your changes. :teeth: If it would help, I can always go over the last trip of changes. :rotfl:

Stop apologizing and pull-up a chair...

:welcome: Minnie&Nana and whatever you used to be called:laughing:. Speaking of changes, now you've got me wondering if our screen names might be (randomly) changed by DIS admins? This wasn't a "surprise" was it? Did they at least retain your post count and join date?

You might find "catching-up" with the thread a bit challenging. You think you went off on a tangent on the WL thread? Well, tangents are the norm here.

I've often wondered why this thread is in the "Codes" forum and not just the "Resorts" forum. Was the original thread here, too? Did the original "changers" talk in codes:confused3

Why, thank you for the warm welcome! Nice and comfy here - feels like home. :flower3:

What is this, 20 questions? :rotfl:

It was my request - which I understand is rarely granted, but it was a sort of security issue (happy to explain in a pm). Did retain my post count and join date - though I had been around waaay back, then left (my son passed unexpectedly), then when I came back could not remember DIS name so just started all over again as a new member in 2004. After those difficult years, I was lucky to remember the DIS never mind a screen name. See, I am more than just a resort changer, I'm a bonafide DIS changer!!! :rotfl2:

Good point - not like it's a slow moving thread.;)

Ya know....try not to laugh, I know this is a running theme with me...don't remember about the codes or how the thread wound up on the code board. Hey, I can recall every minute detail about every resort we've stayed (and few we haven't lol), but what we discussed on the other thread - not a clue beyond changes. Maybe it started because of a 40% code? Or buy 4 get 7? Hmm....both? :confused3

pas130 - you have a beautiful family

disneydreamin247 Your baby is ADORABLE!!! I would love to have another baby but DH says :sad2:...well at least not right now because we are too busy. Anywho, I had change-itis and changed to the BC from the YC. When I first booked, I wanted BC but there wasn't any availability and I kept calling and voila! Something opened up. Now I am thinking about changing the first portion of our stay at AKL to one of the values. When is this going to end:crazy2:

What have I started!? Everyone thinks of me when they go to Target. :rotfl: I cashier so now you know, WDWKOOK. And pas130, I think that's so cool that your MIL's name is Hanna and works at Target! She must be cool! :)

It went from Solo trip to Gramma trip at the end of February/Beginning of March. Mum suggested I go with Gramma so I asked her and she had to see when my cousin was having a wedding shower which made me nervous and since it's in July, she could go. She got engaged the day before I asked my gramma to come along. My cousin has only been dating this guy since like December and they are getting married in August. My cousin's family is super fast. Her older sister was the same way. Dated a guy for a few months, got engaged and got married a few months later later (got married August 2010) and now she is due in July. I'm slow compared to them. :lmao: My boyfriend and I have been dating almost 20 months (It'll be 20 months on the 30th).

Anyways! Yes, my birthday is coming up! Just another week n' a half and I will be 21! I have my birthday and the day after off. :rotfl: I knew I was getting the day after off because I'm almost always off on a Tuesday. They had me working 4:15pm - 9:00pm on my birthday, but someone took my hours so I'm free! :)

@pas130 & disneydreamin247: You have such beautiful kids! I'm so jealous! I hope my future kids will be just as adorable! <3

Regarding me calling everyday, I'm just determined. If I can do it, you guys can too! I don't know how I do it either since it's usually the same thing over and over and over, but I really wanted something different. Now I'm just stuck and I sucked it up like everyone was telling me to. I love ya guys. :grouphug:

That is what I was afraid of so I guess we will keep our original flights.

Ouch. I can understand having anxiety after such an accident. My Ddil is from NY(Bronx) and I swear she is hell on wheels when she drives, scares me to death. Oh man, my BFF lives in the Bronx and there's a street that you have to cross to get to her building from the train and I swear the cars don't even slow down. You have to say a prayer, hold your breath, and RUN! The drivers here are awful which is why I'm not one of them. I could never do it. I get anxiety just thinking about it.

Thanks! I count my blessings every single day.

Good afternoon fellow RCs:goodvibes

Thanks, doll! I got Easter done on Sunday at Target. I got both outfits last night at the mall, but Danimal (DS' nickname) doesn't have shoes. He probably won't wear his outfit on Easter anyway. It's just for pictures. ;) I got Lilyana a gorgeous dress, but it's a little big on her. I tried it on in the mall last night but took it home anyway to try it again where I can lay her down on the bed and full assess the situation. Sorry you had to work even longer. I don't know how you do it! Your family is just beautiful. I love how cute your kids are!!!

Congrats on exercising! I felt so good walking around with the stroller yesterday. I felt like a normal person again and Lily was pretty well behaved. I nursed in the car before we went in and then put her in the stroller and she fell asleep after about 20 minutes, slept through the Easter Bunny photo, slept through lunch, and then woke up wailing so I had to haul buns in Penneys but I got everything done!

I can tell she has grown in her face since her Princess bathtub photo. She looks so cute in that dress, Dani! Awww thank you. :flower3: She definitely has grown. She has such a chub face now lol. Oh gosh I can't imagine having such a little preemie. God bless you and her.

It was pretty bad. And then 6 months to the day from that one I got hit AGAIN in the Bronx. I have awesome luck. :rotfl: I usually avoid all roller coasters anyway with the exception of EE and BTMRR. Other than that, call me chicken little!

disneydreamin247 Your baby is ADORABLE!!! I would love to have another baby but DH says :sad2:...well at least not right now because we are too busy. Hi! Howdy! Hey!

:rotfl: Thanks Dani! This is the longest relationship I've been in and it just feels so right! :) I can't wait to play dress up with his niece who is 10 months. I've been raiding the infant/toddler clearance section at Target. :lmao: He and I have decided that I'm her aunt because we've been dating longer than she's been born even though we aren't married. So I've been telling a bunch of people about "my niece".

I am saying Happy Easter today, because I probably won't be back on til Monday. I am inbetween errands right now, attempting to put DS for nap-he's given up sleeping for Lent I think:lmao:

Minnie&Nana:welcome:Glad you found us. I saw your on kaffinito's TR, and it's a pleasure to have you come aboard. Like stepdisney mentioned, we are all crazy, and everyone is welcome. Sorry to hear of the loss of your son:hug: There are no words... BTW we are planning a RC girls trip if we can ever figure THAT out:rotfl:

sjs314 Thank you, they are crazy, but they are mine:goodvibes

WDWKOOK Too funny about the Duggars, that's what they say at work. My DD has a Aurora nightgown, other DD is Belle, and my Blondie in the back has Tink. I woke up today SO sore, but I exercised again. I love how I am less sore after exercising. AMAZING! And I was checking out the GF on the website, and all my kids came over MOM, I wanna go there!!! LOVE IT!!! Secret is still killing me:laughing: For what it's worth, I think you're amazing too:hug:

LillianGracey You are part of my Target family, my BIL also works at Target, and his significant other as well (they met there) My MIL is GSTL, she started at Food Ave. She's great, a fellow DisFreak-both of them actually. It's great you have a Great BF so young. Good men as SO hard to find. And she is your niece, you don't have to be blood to be family (Just look at all of us) How jazzed are you that your trip is almost here:dance3:

Disneydreamin247 Can you believe how cold it got in 12 hours!!! Yeah my DS 10 is wearing black jeans and a t-shirt I am sure:confused3 Good job at the mall:thumbsup2 I miss having a baby, so I am living through you (hope you don't mind) You need to come over one of these days. Your DS would fit right in, and I can hold that Precious Lily...I can't believe about your 2 accidents:scared1: Did you get a bunny picture with both kids???

Well, the FD starts up when the AP & GP discounts end and the military room-only discount has already been extended until 9-12 (it was due to expire 9/11), but the black-out dates have yet to be announced.

Oh, I read something very interesting. I know you usually book a bounceback and you usually go in December, too. Did you know that you can book a rack rate room now for December and when you check-in to BWI in August you can call and apply the bounceback offer to that room? I'm thinking of doing this for December, but I'm waiting on the black-out dates for the mil. discount first.
Even though Free Dining will be starting the room only discounts we got is the one that started on August 14th until October 1st.

Oh really I had no idea you can do that with the Bounceback rate. Personally I don't think that's something we would do and this is why. Obviously with any room only discount it all depends on how many room categories from each of the resorts are made available and the dates we can go. Well what if we made the reservation at the rack rate before we arrived and it turns out the room category we wanted was sold out on the Bounceback rate. Plus since we stay Club Level we don't want to fill out any of the IPO forms with specifc dates reserved because what if we needed to change the date of our reservations. For example our dates needed to be changed at the Boardwalk Inn to get the 35% discount. We were supposed to be there from August 8th - 22nd and switched the dates to August 17th - 31st when the discount came out and saw it wasn't starting when we were originally going to arrive.
