Resort Change by Disney

OK, just talked to a CM and (take this with the normal grain of phone CM salt) she said Disney will likely start modifying reservations through the end of July on Monday and August reservations the week after that. I guess we shall see...

ETA: I needed to add someone to my reservation but cannot yet, but I also took it to mean that they're going to continue what they've been doing with moving people to open resorts at that time as well.

I was told that I could add someone to my resort at no extra cost (since it's now a villa and there are only three of us) but that I wouldn't be able to add them until July 11 as their systems weren't allowing modifications of that sort.

Yeah, not consistent information. But what else is new? I love Disney, but at no time has all the bad info give out by phone CMs been so exhausting.

Does anyone else feel like the lack of communication is a part of a scheme to get everyone to cancel and / or reschedule at rack rate? It's like they are purposely being vague, difficult and making the entire experience seem as uninticing as possible. I dont know if I like that idea better than this whole thing just being a cluster or not? :p

I love Disney, and have been holding onto hope for our trip that has been rescheduled twice now. I have been wondering as well about the lack of communication and whether it really is Disney’s way of pushing people towards cancellation. I hope not, but they are making it very difficult to keep plans with not knowing if I will even have a place to stay.

I just keep thinking about how many people don't have the information we do and who call to adjust their reservation only to be told they must pay rack rack, etc, when it turns out they didn't need to do that. Or told they had to cancel or any other piece of misinformation given out by phone CMs multiple times per day. So many people probably got screwed over and they don't know it.

Add me to the list of people who feel like that. My daughter is 3 weeks out tomorrow for her trip and falls under one of those people whose checkout is after July 11th, so has received ZERO information. That is absolutely ridiculous.

Sorry to hijack.... But does anyone know when the NBA Season will be over? I am hoping it does not interfere with the January Marathon (if it even goes on as scheduled). THANKS!

My flight had changed a couple weeks back but only found out because I checked the delta site. I setup my flights through Disney. I just received a call from Disney Air Department to verify the flight changes delta had made and to verify I still wanted them. I told her I did and the CM told me she would send that forward confirming for me and then send me a confirmation email afterwards. My trips is July 18 thru 25th.

Yes and no, I think they have been consistent in dealing with things 3 weeks out as they did before they announced opening..,they were canceling like that.

However, I also think i they are not really sure exactly what and how they can accommodate everyone still booked.

I do think they should have been sending out more, even if it was to say...we are dealing with X right now and the plan is to deal with things on a rolling basis.

I am surprised nothing came out today given the leak for NBA as they had to be slammed with calls.

I just cancelled my Kidani July 15-19 stay that had been my option to modify from my All Star Movies stay (July 1-5). I have a back up stay for July 15-19 at Doubletree Hilton, Disney Springs that is linked to MDE.

I know I couldn't afford to really do the Kidani stay. Not this year. I had budgeted a quick ASMo stay and that was really my max.

We'll see if the park reservation thing works out for us with the Doubletree stay. We already had park tickets (provided I ever see DD19's AP extension). It's got two queen beds and a pull out so it will be more comfortable anyway if it works out and it will be a couple hundred less than ASmo would have been.

So, I've got 3 hotel reservations for the last 3 nights of our trip: Hard Rock Hotel at UO, Hilton Bonnet Creek, and BWI. I am concerned about losing BWI. We have BWV for the first part. Maybe I should make another reservation somewhere else just in case :rotfl2: Now, if they will only let me join my family in the parks with my AP; they have tickets. I only got the darn AP to get a discount on the Wild Africa Trek, which got cancelled. I haven't even redeemed it yet. Normally, I would upgrade our park hoppers to an AP at the parks. Being thrifty may bite me this time. I would be willing to buy a new park hopper to get into the parks, if they would let me.
