Has anyone recently stayed at the Residence Inn Seaworld within the last month or so? I am curious about the construction that was to have started in the empty lot to the south of the hotel.

We are thinking of booking this hotel for the end of August this year, I can get it for $111 per night with tax. Maybe the construction is the reason for the "deal"?

Thanks!

We stayed there Saturday night. We were headed to Mardi Gras at Universal so didn't look around much and got back after bedtime. I didn't notice any construction.

I didn't care for the soft beds and the A/C kept waking DH up every time it cycled on, but the breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

End of August is getting into the off-season. That doesn't really sound like a huge bargain, but I haven't priced the hotel. I stayed on a freebie certificate from my Marriott credit card.

Thanks! Prices are coming in on different websites of anywhere between $119 and $134 plus tax for the same room. The $111 per night is including tax. This is the first time staying off site, we are splitting our trip into two. 18 days, 9 in Orlando and last 9 onsite in Disney. Kind of nervous as to where to stay off-site!

I've stayed here 2 years ago. It is a nice place, and I think $111 is a reasonable rate. The way the hotel is set up, I can't imagine nearby construction noise being a big problem. It is a fantastic location for Seaworld, located literally across the street. Best part of the hotel is the free hot breakfast buffet -- lots of choices and we have three children so it was a significant savings. The rooms are not fancy, but it is great to have the extra space. The one bedroom has a room with 2 queen beds and a living room/kitchen with pull out sofa. There is also a nice pool area.

Cons -- This is a big hotel and I thought it was pretty noisy -- our room, though, was near both the elevator and outside doors to the pool area! Also, the hotel is not very conveniently located to restaurants, and the on-site food choices (besides breakfast) were scarce (pizza hut pizzas).

If you are going to Seaworld, try booking the room from the Seaworld website, I did and got a package with length of stay tickets included for CHEAP!

Thank you for the info! We are still undecided on whether to do Discovery Cove or not, and that ticket would include any Sea World days we would need. I think Residence Inn Seaworld will be where we end up staying. Good reviews, hot breakfast buffet included, decent price, convenient location. What more could anyone ask for??!!

DH and I stayed here a few years ago and loved it! I also recommended it to a coworker for her trip last year and her family had nothing but good things to say about their stay. The rooms were big and clean, the breakfast had a huge variety and the hotel overall was in really good condition. DH and I are very picky about where we stay and we have chosen to stay in this hotel again for our upcoming trip in May. We loved the beds and our air was fine, in fact I think it was the best sleep we've gotten on any Orlando trip. I wouldn't worry about construction, I've experienced nothing but good things here and read good reviews (recent reviews) on various hotel websites. :cool1:

Yah! I booked it! 1 Bedroom suite with 2 queens, $128 per night including tax! No more looking for hotels!

Thanks for everyone's help!
