Hi Folks --

Looking for some info on the Marriott Residence Inn Resort Area. On Marriott's website, it claims to be "only four blocks from Disneyland," but I'm not sure what this actually means. It's not on the Disneyland Lodging map linked in HydroGuy's hotel rules post (thanks, btw, Hydroguy). The address is 11931 Harbor Blvd.

We're two adults with an infant. We're perfectly happy walking a bit since the little guy can chill in his stroller, but I'm not interested in more than a 1/2 mile walk or so.

Thanks!

The Residence Inn you are referring to is in Garden Grove, and definitely NOT walking distance to the parks. You would have to use the ART or drive and park.

There is a Residence Inn closer on Clementine. It isn't as new, but has some really great reviews, and it IS close enough to walk. About 10 minutes from the esplanade.

We just got back from the Residence Garden Grove and it was fabulous! We also wanted to stay at Residence Inn Maingate but it wasn't available in a Good Neighbor package. My friends stayed there and still drove to the park, it's walkable, but probably not with children at the end of the day and might burn them out at the beginning. My friends loved the hotel at maingate, some reviews say it is a little noisy (look on tripadvisor). The Garden Grove location is across from a Target and there is a Chinese Restaurant and Del Taco open late across the street. The rooms are awsome. Our party (2 adults, 4 kids) had a family suite with a bunkbed (only really fits 2 kids) in a seperate room with it's own bathroom, a separate living room with full kitchen (great fridge/freezer and dishwasher), and another bedroom with bathroom with 2 queens. They also provide enough dishes to get by on. We took ART and it was good. One day we got to the stop right at 10:20 and it didn't come until 10:45 (it comes every 20 min). Maybe it came early?? Other than that day ART was perfect. We enjoyed breakfast - it wasn't the best, but it was way better than continental and you can't beat FREE! They shut down breakfast on the dot, so you can't be late. You can always take something up to late sleepers. We also did laundry - they have several nice machines. I thought the pool was a little cold, probably my only negative at all.

The 6 of us have stayed at RI Maingate numerous times and will stay there again. It is about .5 miles and is an easy walk. Great breakfast of many choices and we have always had excellent service.

If it's just the 3 of you & you're tied to Marriott (we also use our marriott points often), you might want to look at the Fairfield on Harbor (across the street & down 200 yards from the Entrance).

Not as nice as a Residence, but the location is good, it IS a Marriott, & works very well if most of your time will be at the Parks.

We're not tied to Marriott, but we are tied to a suite. If the little guy isn't in bed by 7:30, he makes life heck for us the next day. Since DH and I aren't really into silence by 7:30, we figure with a suite, we can put DS down and still enjoy a little evening in the other room.

You may want to look into BWPPI. They have suites and from what I understand, have reasonable prices. You can not beat just accross the street. Good luck.
