Reserving lounge chairs???

I've been saying for years that Disney pool areas should have cubbies for stuff. Last year at the Polynesian, the 5 of us wanted to swim in the volcano pool. I walked around with 10 shoes, 5 towels, and our dry clothes and couldn't find anywhere to put them down. Finally I went up to an older couple sitting at a table with an empty chair and asked them if I could just place my stuff there for a few minutes while I cooled off in the water. It was embarrassing to ask them but the more I circled the pool, the more desperate I became.

I am sorry to read that lisa, and you may be the victim of the same person(s) as my Son, I do agree no one sholud reserve chairs, but this goes a bit too far, clearly in my instance someone was quick (10>15 mins max he was in the pool) and decided they wanted that chair.

It was more annoying than anything. I just wanted to get to the room and get ready for dinner. It was my first time enjoying the adult pool so I have no way of knowing what the norm is but that has never happened to us at the other pools. DS happened to have someone take his WM crocs that same after at the Goofy pool. We found them the next day on a chair. I figure in that case a kid was in a hurry and just put the wrong pair on but when they realized it they put them back in the area.

It's funny. In six cruises on DCL, I've never had a problem at the adult pool, either finding chairs or experiencing chair hogs. All this time I assume it was m ore predominant at the busier family pool.

In 4 cruises we have never had any problems around the adult pool either.

My family and I will always get 1 lounger and put all of our stuff on it. I always have a beach bag w/ a book, sunscreen, etc in it and we fold up all the towels on top. When we leave for lunch or to go back to the room, we take all of our stuff with us and will find another chair when we get back.

I really saw this on another cruise line...

A man took his artificial leg off to go for a swim. It was mainly metal so it did not just look like a leg on a chair. He wrapped a towel around most of it and jumped in the pool. A family came up a few minutes later and dumped his leg on the floor! They moved a few other people's items and set up camp. A security guard was called and they were eventually made to move after 20-30people were shouting "Dump Them" at the security guard.
