My family and I are planning a trip in March. We are FL residents, and got a rate at POR for $119.00.
My sis-in law and her family live in NY and are on a tight budget. They want to stay in the same hotel as us, but were quoted $175.00 for POR.
Can I book 2 rooms with my FL resident???? Maybe 1 under my husbands name and 1 under mine??? Is this done alot???? Has anyone else done this???
Thanks for the input.

sorry I am not a resident but they would need to show ID to get park tickets and entry to the parks, dining plan, etc.

I am not giving opinions on this matter but I assume if she buys tickets off ticketmania before getting to WDW youe husband could infact book the room under his name but then they would not get ID's for EMH's either...sorry I can not help any better I am sure there will be lots of posts and opinions on this!! :)

Yes, you can book two rooms. I did this 2 years ago. I live in NY and I booked 2 rooms under my Mom's name (she's a FLA res but I did all the planning and made all the phone calls). They even allowed me to pay using my Visa card. As long as the FLA resident is the one to check everyone in for BOTH rooms, you should be fine. As for EMH, etc. booking as FLA res doesn't matter. You get room keys the same as everyone else. If I'm not mistaken, my room key looked exactly the same as my mom's key. Unless this has changed over the past 2 years you should be able to book both rooms in your name and not have a problem. If you still aren't sure just ask them at the time you book the rooms.

Because policies seem to change day-to-day for this type of discount, best bet is to call and ask.

When we lived in Florida we did this multiple times. We could book up to 3 rooms under 1 reservation. As long as you are there when they check in there is no problem.

Yes, the last poster is right. We live in FL and have done this many times. As long as the one checking in is a FL Res.

We did this previously before also BUT it now looks like Disney is cracking down on this :(

As poster above says, you better check with Disney to avoid surprises ($$$) at check in!

I think the OP was asking ONLY about reserving a room under FL resident, which it is perfectly legal to reserve rooms as a FL res for more than one room for others who are not. But the ticket info is good to mention! We didn't even attempt to use FL passes, bought tix from ticketmania when we went with my mom, she had her FL pass. I was just glad to have the room discount...saved a bundle!

Yes, you can do this. We are going over tomorrow. just for one night and I booked a room for DH and myself and one for our friends. The only catch was, I had to basically make 2 different reservations, which meant I had to pay for both rooms at the time I made the reservation.(since we are only staying for 1 night) Hope that makes sense. :confused3

yes you can do it for them but it must be linked to your room. When you check in, you just need to show your ID for both rooms... I want to say you can get up to 3 rooms with your discount. It is all perfectly legal also. What isn't legal is when someone tires to book it using one of their FL relatives address & when they check in, the FL relative isn't going to be with them... then they are trying to beat the system. If you are staying & they are staying, it is all on the up & up... don't worry & have fun ;)

Yes, this is true but for ticket purchases ...not just room only. For a room only Resident discount, only one person needs to have the FL ID.
