Once you have booked what is the best way to contact them if you need to add to the Special Requests. i.e. are you better to email them so that you have everything in writing or is a phone call sufficient. or even are you better phoning the resort

I like to phone and "get it from the horses mouth", so I'm certain they understand what I want.

Requests (other than those for medical necessity) are not guaranteed, so it really doesn't help much to have it in writing.

If it's important (from your other posts, I know you have a special needs child), call back a few days after you add the requests and and ask the CM to read them back to you. I've found that is really the best way to make sure the "record" reflects what I want/need.

Know that not all requests actually appear on the confirmation letter - even though they are noted in the computer.

Best wishes -

thanks Carol. he needs extra pillows (10) to prevent pressure sores and didn't want to bring them all the way from the UK. when we book and stay here in the uk it isn't a problem. can't believe I forgot to ask. away to do it now (fingers crossed)

For something like that, just ask at check-in or call housekeeping when you get to your room. Many times rooms are not even assigned to guests until they arrive at the front desk, so it's not realistic to think they will be waiting for you when you arrive.

When we speak of "requests", we're talking almost exclusively about the characteristics of the room to which you want to be assigned (floor, smoking/ns, geographic location, etc.) For extra amenities that you need to have for your trip (crib, pillows, bedrail, extra towels), you simply call housekeeping after you get to the unit and they will deliver promptly.
