We want to make our reservations for Fort Wilderness. Should we put together one of the package deals (tickets and ressies) as seen on the Disney website, or just make the ressies and buy tickets seperate ???? :confused3

That depends on if you are elligible for any discounts, and how flexible you wish your ressies to be. If you book a package, you owe $200 right off the bat and must pay in full by 45 days before arrival. If you have access to discounts (AAA, passholder, etc.) you may wish to book seperately, plus you control when you buy the tickets (even if you just buy them online the day before and pick them up "will call" you will still recieve the advance price discount) and only have to make a 1-night deposit, with the balance due on arrival. You can also cancel within 5 days of arrival with no penalty - the modifications are stricter with the package.

There is no real benefit to booking a basic room/ticket package - most of the time the price is just the rack rate room and the ticket put together, no savings involved.

No matter what you decide, don't book on the website. It may be convenient, but it's known to be a hassle - and if you do find you need to make changes it is much more difficult than if you booked by phone. Call CRO (407-W-DISNEY) and book with them - definately shop the website, but when it's time to book trust me and save yourself the headache later : call. Try during the late afternoon/early evening, depending on where you live - I'm on the east coast, so I have a great time getting through around 8-9PM.

Good luck!

PS - I assume you are not going during late Aug-very early Oct when they are doing FREE dining - in that case, I'd have to say YES go with the package, hehe

Thanks for the advice !!!! We are planning for the middle of the first week-through-the second week of August... ::MickeyMo

I agree with NED unless you are getting a great discount with the package do everything separate and hunt around for the discounts (hard to find now unless, AP holder or AAA). If you could push your date back a week to late August you could get the free dining with the package deal which is a good reason to book a package if the savings add up. We went that time last year and I loved the low crowds and wanted to go back again during the same timeframe and was actually planning a 2nd trip with everything separate when they came out with the free dining.......so I booked and had an instant savings of about $500 (how much I spent last year on food) :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
