Tomorrow is my ADR day. I am traveling with family and need to make reservations for 9 people. What are the chances of being able to get tables for 9? Our back up plan is for our families to make separate reservations for our own family at the same time.

Also, if anyone wants to give input to our restaurant choices:

Sun 7/31 -

Arrival day

Dinner: Chef Mickeys 7pm

Mon 8/1 Animal Kingdom (morning extra magic hours) 8-5pm

Lunch: Flametree CS

Dinner: O’Hana TS 7:30pm

Tues 8/2 Epcot (Late magic hours) Via Napoli 6pm

Wed 8/3 Magic Kingdom (Late magic hours)

Lunch: CS: Be our Guest 1pm

Dinner: Quick service in MK?

Thurs 8/4 Blizzard Beach - 10-7

Lunch: BB

Dinner: Quick service somewhere? Maybe Wolfgang Puck in Disney Springs that night? Then Ghirardelli?

Fri 8/5 Hollywood Studios (Late magic hours)

Lunch:

Dinner: Sci Fi Drive In 6:00pm

8/6 check out at 11a ,

Epcot

Lunch: Bier Garten 1pm

Drive to the beachhouse around 3pm or stay later at Epcot then go to Cocoa Beach at 7pm, arrive by 8pm?

I believe most restaurants you will have to call for a large party reservation of over 8.

That was a concern of mine since I don't like calling in, so I went in to test making reservations for 9 people and all of the restaurants I tried allow it.

1) Yep.
2) It used to be one had to call at 8-people.
3) Most eateries now allow 10-people on-line or via mobile app.
4) Of course, there are those exceptions, but they are identified when you try to book.
5) Glad to know you had success.
6) I do love it so "when a plan comes together".

I've made ADRs for 18 before and even got Le Cellier for that party size back in its heyday. Get online at exactly "go" time and start with your hardest ADRs to make: Chef Mickey's, BOG, etc. I swear that I did this online, but I could be wrong.

Love Chef Mickey's for big groups, lots of choices and fun atmosphere
'Ohana was our favorite of that trip, they handle large groups well
Biergarten is great because you'll fill up a table on your own. I think that they seat 8, perhaps some tables are larger. Usually, you are seated with other parties.

Hi Medfordis

Last summer I had to plan for 14. There are some restaurants I had to do with a separate room reservation in order to get the reservation at 6:00 am. I just used one of the other accounts of one of the people traveling with us because they didn't want to get up at 6:00 am. I called Disney Dining the day before and went through each of the reservations with them and knew in advance which ones I had to do with the two accounts.

Here's the ones I know...
GF Cafe needed two accounts
SciFi needed one
Yachtsman needed two
Ohana's needed one
Via Napoli needed one
The Wave needed one
Mama Melrose needed one

Good luck, also at each restaurant we asked for them to put the tables together when we checked in and only had to sit separately at the GF Cafe & Yachtsman. When I made the arrangements I anticipated that so I made it so the kids where at one and adults at the other. One night we even did ladies and one and men at the other. So try and figure that out too just in case.

On our trip last year we ate several times with some friends and we were a party of 9. We had no problem getting ADRs at HBD, 50s Prime Time, and BOG. We didn't get our first choice of time for BOG dinner but it still worked out. We did make them all at 180 days, I think that is key.

At the SciFi dine in, you will be split across two different cars. Just keep that in mind. They do have osme next to one another so you can cross talk.

We were able to make reservations for 10 every place we wanted. From your list, that included Chef Mickeys, Ohana, and Sci-Fi. At Sci-Fi, they did seat us in two cars right next to each other. I was not able to get 10 at Via Napoli for the time I wanted, but I also think it was later than 180 days. We had two reservations for the same time, but I asked if we could sit together and they were able to accommodate us.

We got everything we wanted for 9 people EXCEPT Via Napoli. We had to each make our reservation and I have to say those dinner times went FAST. I wanted to change mine but by 8am no times were left. I am sitting with a reservation for 8 - there are 9 of us. The other family snagged a reservation for only their family for an hour later. We'll have to keep trying to make this work.
