Can I hold 2 room only reservations with some of the same names at the same time? How would that affect MDE? This is a room only reservation, and am basically wondering if the same people can be listed as being at 2 rooms.
Reason is we need a bigger room if all 5 can go, but it may be only 3 can and will need a smaller room.

No. And I do want the MDE to function properly since one will get dropped about 3 months prior. All the names are already family from previous trip and one of the people definitely going is already differentiating with an initial.

I don't think there's a problem with booking 2 rooms at once. I definitely read about people booking 2 reservations at the same time until they decide which one to keep.

Absolutely no problem. I’ve had more than 1 reservation for the same dates for myself & my DH in MDE more than once. I’ve even talked to CMs about 1 reservation & they have never even mentioned that I had another reservation for the same dates.

Yes. I'm doing this right now. Because I'm splitting my stay, I couldn't add 7 day tickets to the first 2 day reservation without calling. I already had 7 day tix and park passes scheduled with the original booking, so I have both until I have 2-3 hours to spend on the phone.

I've done this multiple times. I have two reservations currently, and am waiting to see if I can get a discount (when released) before dropping the more expensive option.
