I got my first DVC reservation confirmation in the mail yesterday. As exciting as that was, I'm hoping someone can answer a question for me. It lists my room as a 2 bdr dedicated. What does the dedicated part mean? If anyone can explain I'd be grateful.
Thanks.

This likely means that your 2 BR is not a "lock off", which is a combination of a 1 BR and a studio, with a connecting door in between.

I'm somewhat surprising that MS was able to confirm the dedicated 2BR (usually rooms are specifically assigned 4-5 days before arrival) , but, in any event, have a great time!:D

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question.

Dedicated means it is NOT a lock-off. I have never seen that listed on the reservation form before though. I love the dedicated 2 bedrooms at OKW. They have a HUGE closet in the second bedroom where the door would be.

Dedicated means that you will not a two bedroom that is comprised of a one bedroom with a connecting studio. There are differing opinions as to what is preferred. In a lock-off you get the wet bar area and extra fridge in the studio plus you can close the connetcing door between the 1 bdrm and stusio for some privacy.

We have only made 2 ressies for 2 bdrms in the past and each time it has specifically stated dedicated on the confirmation. In each case that's what we got.

Lars.... Me again! Is your reservation at BCV? The other big difference at BCV between a Dedicated and Lock-off is that in a dedicated you will have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom vs. a queen bed and pull out sleeper/sofa. This is great for us so that our son and daughter won't be fighting over who has to sleep on the sleeper/sofa.

That is also true if your ressie is for VWL!

All this info is really helpful!
Terry- The 2 queen beds will be ideal for us also since I have 2 boys & 1 girl.
Thanks again everyone....any and all advice is welcome when you're a new member.:p

The other nice thing about the dedicated is there is no door that goes from the 2nd bedroom into the hallway like there is in the lock - off since the lock-off can be used as a seperate studio. This way the kids can't accidentally go out that door and end up in the hallway. The only entrance/exit into the hallway will be from the main Living Room/Kitchen area.
