Reservation at 7 month window question

My wife and I are really struggling over weather DVC makes sense for us.

We currently are HGVC owners that are Disney Die Hards.

With that said: Wha is the general consensus on availabilty at the 7 month window.

We typically wouldn't travel during XMAS or summer but Thanksgiving would be a possibility

For instance, if we buy at HH, what are the odds we could get a unit in Hilton Head for Thanksgiving at the seven month window. If so would certain resorts e gone for sure?

We are a family of 3 who would be using 1/2 bedrooms the majority of the time.

If you buy DVC in HH, then you will be able to book HH at the 11 month window. I would think that if you call day by day at the 11 month window, you should be able to get a ressie.

That said, my understanding is that there are a very limited number of studios and 1 BR units at HH, so for a busy time like Thanksgiving, you would want to be on the phone with MS at 8:59 AM 11 months out.

I would think that a 2BR in HH at 11 months out would not be a problem at all.

You can easily get HH 7 months out for anytime other than summer. Unless you're going to travel to HH in Summer, I'd either not buy or look at a different home resort. Actually you can easily trade in to HH for that time of year through II as long as you're not trading another HH option.

We use our OKW points almost every year to go to HH at Thanksgiving. The one year it was really important, I booked one day at a time, until I had the wholw week. You probably couldn't be sure to get a 3 BR Villa, but if you're flexible you should be fine.
