We wish to buy into DVC, however, we know we will need to resale in 15-20 years (retiring out of the country). How do the DVC timeshares hold up for resale? If you do not mind sharing, if you bought your share 10-20 years ago, where did you buy and what did you pay per point?

You'll want to check the folks who purchased OKW right at the beginning 15 years ago.

Past performance is no guarentee of future performance.

(It has held up well - amazingly well considering what timeshares are traditionally known for, it could crash and burn).

In your situation, to minimize risk, I'd buy a contract with the longest horizon possible. In 20 years, an "original date" contract will have only 14 years' use left on it, and it's anyones guess as to whether or not those will hold up in value. However, in 20 years, SSR will have 26 years' use left, and AKV 29.

I would look for the longest return .

Which would be either CCR or AKV or maybe soon CCV.

An OKW resale contract or one purchased directly through Disney can have a 2057 expiration date so you may want to consider that also.
