We were at Disney this past week and spoke with a DVC salesman. It's very enticing and we are considering buying the Grand Californian, which is $112 per point...they are of course offering incentives...full points for 2009 to bank for 2010 and about $3,100 off the buying price.
It seems to make more sense to purchase a resale, as the points are cheaper? Am I missing something?

, but we bought at BLT because I really couldn't see us staying anywhere else over the long term. Sure, we want to try some of the other resorts, but for the long term I wanted BLT for the transportation (we never have a car) and the fact that MK is our favorite park. If you would be comfortable staying at SSR, OKW, BWV, etc. over the long term then by all means you should look into resale. But, do not buy somewhere with the hopes of getting in somewhere else at 7 months every time.
