Resale Add on, same contract number?

My DVC membership has a contract number.
Let's pretend it's 1234567.

My original purchase shows on the member website as: 1234567.0
My first add on was the same Use Year and same home resort. It shows on the member website as 1234567.1

If I purchase a resale contract with the same Use Year but a different home resort, would it become
1234567.2? Or would it have to be the same home resort in order for it to become 1234567.2?

If it could be 1234567.2, would I have to tell the title company what my contract number is? Or would Disney figure it out if the name on the deed and address are the same?

Contract number would be 1234567.2 if it is recorded under the same membership.

In order for your new purchase to be under the same membership, the contract must be titled exactly the same way and you would have to supply the title company with the membership number. That number is not the same as the contract number.

Thank you!

I believe the first digit is the sequential resort number (other than being omitted for OKW) in terms of when it opened. For instance, BCV being the 6th DVC resort, all the contracts begin with 6. Mine look like 6123456.0 and 6123456.1. If i bought at BWV, the contract would begin with a 4 since it's the 4th DVC resort. I'm not sure if it would be exactly sequential other than the first digit -- i.e. "4123456.2" following my example -- or not. Someone with that situation would have to chime in and educate me there.

I believe that numbering is correct but only used for the initial contract on a membership. For example we have 2 UY's VWL was the first purchased in one and other resort add on's start with the 5. April - started with BCV and different resort also was assigned 6. They just add on the .1, .2, .3 after the first set up of the membership.

Cool, thanks for clarifying. This means just disregard my entire previous post :)

You are correct about the numbering of Master Contracts. When a new member's account is first created in the DVC system, two unique numbers are assigned to the new member: A 12-digit membership number which appears on the membership card; and a Master Contract number which is attached to each deed placed in the account. The Master Contract number is based, in part, on the first deed that is accreted to the new member's account. The prefix of the Master Contract is based on the resort's entry into the DVC system:

Blank -- Old Key West
2 -- Vero Beach
3 -- Hilton Head
4 -- Boardwalk
5 -- Boulder Ridge
6 -- Beach Club
7 -- Saratoga Springs
8 -- AKV (Jambo House)
9 -- AKV (Kidani Village)
10 -- Bay Lake Tower
11 -- Grand Californian
12 -- Aulani
13 -- Grand Floridian
14 -- Polynesian
15 -- Copper Creek

The future Riviera Resort should be assigned a prefix of 16.

The first deed accreted to the account will have a suffix of .000. As other deeds are added the Master Contract number remains the same but the suffix is changed to .001, then .002, and so on.

Interesting as always @wdrl. We just closed on an add on SSR contract with a different UY. Our 2nd membership number is loaded into the DVC system but we await the points. As this will be our third SSR contract will it be xxx.3 or xxx.1 as it’s the first under the new membership/UY?
