I tried the search forum but could not get in so if this a repeat...sorry.

I'm not new to the boards but haven't posted in close to two years. I've been reading what you guys have to say for a while and it always keeps me up to date on life in the fort.

OK...so here's the question...
Can you request a site online when making reservations or is it best to call? Or, do they even let you request a site at all? I've been many times but until Dec., haven't found a site that we just LOVED until now and would love to stay there again.

Thanks!

Hi,

You sound alot like me, I have been posting on the cruiseline forum, but have been lurking around for a few years. I just knew one day I'd get a camper again and well thank goodness that day finally arrived. LOL!

You can make requests when you book it online, though I found the space was very limited. I couldn't fit in req. loops 700 or 800 and also in the words "pet" too. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed pretty limited with the character space. So, in answer to the second part of your question you can call and do this. I had to call and ask them to add in the pet part to my request. I know they don't get a ton of space either for notes on a reservation, but they get more than I got! LOL!

Just remember the more specific a request the less likely you are to get it. You are better off being more general, request a loop and something like, near bus or near CS. If you ask for 1 site and it is not available the CM doesn't really know why you wanted that site, so they will try to give you a simmilar site, but what they think is comperable may not be what you wanted.
The Fort is pretty good at honoring requests, but they can't always make everyone happy.

I request a loop number and then the day I'm due to check-in, I call ahead to see if 3 or 4 specific sites are available. If they aren't, I ask once more when I'm checking in.

If it's an off time, you can get lucky asking for a particular site!! If it's a busy time, just getting the loop you asked for is a miracle!:wizard:

But the important thing is to ask! The front desk at FtW is very good at trying to accomodate your wishes!
