We are taking DD and her friend to ASMu in August for a graduation trip. I have two rooms booked.

On the reservations, I am in one room with one girl and DH and DD are on the other. (The girls turn 18 later this year.)

They will be in one room with double beds but DH and I want to request a room with a King. I see that the king bed rooms are accessibility rooms. Is that right? The bed type was not on the online check in list.

Would I call and request a King?

I wouldn't want to request a room that is we do not need for accessibility issues. Sigh.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

We requested the king on our original reservation, then at check in. They found us one, and it was accessible.

I believe all king bed rooms are accessible but you wouldn't be given one if a medical reason was given for someone else needing one. Also, there are different accessible rooms, some with everything needed for someone who needs a wheelchair 24/7 and some for people who don't need the wheelchair all the time. So, that shouldn't be your issue. What should be the issue here is if you are requesting connecting rooms. If you are, that should be your first request as getting a king bed room and a double bed room connecting might not be an easy thing. That should be your focus.

This! And please if you do need a door between the rooms, make sure you use the word "connecting". Far too many people say "adjoining" when they mean "connecting" and then get upset when they get "adjoining" rooms - rooms next to or near (in Disney value-and-mod-terms could be across/around the corner - in hotels with rooms on both sides of a hall could be across from each other) each other but without a door between them.

Actually we aren't looking for connecting. Adjoining would be fine! We just want to be near.
For the king, I just wouldn't feel right about asking for room if there was a need for accessible. If we don't get one because there was a need, that would be fine.
Thanks for all the replies!!!!

The king bed room is just a request so you wouldn't be given one if others had more urgent needs than yours. So request first, adjoining rooms and then one room with a king bed and see what happens. No big deal.
