requesting a room at DLH

I have heard on here that people have gotten upgrades by asking at the DLH but can you request a tower instead? I'm hoping to get one with the least construction since we have a baby that still naps.

We put a request for tower on our reservation, and we got it. If you want the least construction noise, request dreams.

It seems that if you request and pay for Dreams with a DTD view, you will have the best chance of not seeing the construction.

They assign the actual rooms 3 days out. I've called directly to the hotels before and actually had them put me in a specific room before. I guess it all depends on what's available and I happened to be specific about which room I wanted

What's the best room to request if you are booked in a 'Standard View Room' category? Can't upgrade since we're staying on dvc points and I don't want them to take extra points out of the owner's account. Does Dreams have Standard View? I really don't care about view so much as having the shortest walk to the monorail as we're mainly staying there next weekend since we got a great deal on it and wanted the WOC FP early entrance and MM's.

Also, anybody recently stay and know how far along the pool is? Last thread I saw about the DLH pool was last updated mid-March, and a lot can happen in 2 months ...

Construction on the grounds is supposed to be done for summer in 3 weeks. I'm not sure the Fantasy tower has or will have any rooms available because of construction in it.


I would request the Dreams (Adventure) tower just to be closer to the parks.

When I was there last August, when they were deep in renovations, I asked when I was checking in if I could have a room that was already renovated and got one!
