Requesting a reservation online

I just requested a reservation online. I didn't really have time to call, and I want Old Key West in 11 months, so I am guessing I will be fine. I just had a question for anyone who has done this before...

After you press "submit," does it give you a confirmation or anything? Like telling you that it went through and someone will be back to you in x hours? Because after I pressed submit it brought me back to the Request a Reservation page. I am worried it didn't go through. I know I should just call Member Services, but they had a 7 minute hold time and I figured someone here would know!

if you gave them everything that is needed - they will make the reservation and send you an email confirming this - but it is not immediately - like 48 to 72 hours later...

now if you didn't give them all the information - no reservation will be made and they will ask you for more details...

calling is much easier for me...
 
When I did a ME request on line, I almost immediately got a note to my e-mail account saying that there will be action on this in sooo and sooo time. When I paid our tax/maintenance bill, I also got something that indicated something registered.

I would think that something like that would come if you did truly make the reservation request. Sorry, but I don't know for sure, I have not ever made a reservation on line.

bobbi, I did this years and years ago - maybe as long as 10 years....

so they could certainly have changed the system since then.
 

I used the online system twice to request reservations-

the first time I got confirmation of my reservation exactly 48 hrs later, the second time I never heard anything at all and had to call MS to make the reservation. after that, I call for all reservations

But you never got a confirmation email that your request had been received and was being worked on? Or a confirmation page after you hit submit?

I think reserving online will work much better for me than calling, so I want to learn how to do it.
 
I've done two reservations on-line. I don't remember what happens right away, but you should get an email prompted by the reservation telling you that your request has been received. In about 2-3 days, you'll get a personalized email telling you whether or not your reservation has been made.

The first ressie I made was completely on-line and I receieved a mailed confimration letter a week or so later.

The second ressie I ended up calling to follow-up since I wanted to be placed on a waiting list.

Too bad we can't get more instantaneous answers when booking on-line. I also prefer it to calling.
 
Just today I send MS an e-mail asking about one of my ressie requests. The question hasn't been answered, but I did get a "we got your message" message, right away.

I sent two requests for reservations online to MS and never heard back on either one - EVER. So I was talking to my guide and mentioned it and he said to send it again and copy him - I did and got an confirmation within 4 hours.

That is what I thought. I am assuming that had it gone through I would have been notified that it had been received and was being processed. I will call in the morning. I really wish there was a better way to make reservations online. Unless I am trying to secure a high demand reservation (BCV at Christmas or something) I would always prefer to just send an email with my 1st and 2nd choices.
 
I did an on-line reservation request on Sunday night 4/9 for one night at DLH for my daughter. After I hit submit, the screen said the request would be processed in 2-3 days. I received the email confirmation on Tuesday 4/11.
 
I'll stick to making the phone call for now.
